Team mixes

Am I the only noticing for the past few years all the team mixes, except for maybe 1 or 2 mixers, sound all the same?
Its literally same old hiphop instrumentals. Same old sweeps. Same old effects. Oh lets not forget TRAP TRAP TRAP TRAP TRAP and TRAP.

I believe that can be attributed to the fact that teams nowadays prefer to outsource their mixes, leading to similar sounds. There aren't many DJ's that teams are willing to pay for a mix, leading to mixes being made by the same few people. The overall quality of mixes has gotten better, but the creativity has somewhat stagnated. Another causative factor is that many teams don't allow DJ's creative liberty, leading to everything sounding good but unexciting.

Dholi Ram's mixes are quite good too, not the usual stuff i can make out from North American mixes. He has his own style

Partly it's because when those mixes are released, the only feedback they get is "BRO THIS MIX IS SECKS" "OMG OMG OMG JIZZZZZZ".

This gives the mixer a false sense of accomplishment and puts them in a limbo state. They continue to make what's accepted and stop going above and beyond. The same samples get used the same effects get used because they get praised for being "hype" .... frickin hate that word..

Music become an afterthought to bass and effects.

Big ups to the mixers that keep the game fresh and force each other to grow.
