For all those who are interested with the ongoings of the punjabi/indian community from a distinctively punjabi pov, everyone should check out Amardeep Singh. He is a PhD from Duke Univeristy, and I was introduced to him by a friend who recommended his book called Secularism: Religion and Modernity in Twentieth-Century Fiction, awesome read.
Maybe you can tell by the title of his book, but his interest in India, and the South Asian diaspora and its secularism is remarkable. The guy literally can BLOW your mind with some of his commentary.
NO offense to anyone is particular, but with exception of a few people, most commentary on important issues whether in our diaspora or abroad, are sub-par and very very very basic on this website. They range from "violence and racism is bad" to "we shouldnt generalize".... I think he is a PERFECT author to help you introduce yourself into a mindset that can furthher your comprehension of the unique experience that is a south asian/indian/punjabi/sikh in the west.
Here is his personal blog, and if anyone else is interested in other south asian intelligent bloggers let me know.. either suggestions or requests...
