maybe next time he'll get his priorities straight ... missing one or two games to fully recover, or play to keep the starting games streak alive and possibly miss every game of the season? i applaud you brady, great choice.

I am in absolute tears over this. The thing is that he had the injury during the off-season and this was bound to happen. But this makes me so sad.

The new QB looks promising, but he probably will not be as clutch as Brady. I am about to rip my NE Patriots poster off of my wall in depression.

Please keep in mind that although the pats are not the same without Tom Brady...they are still deep as hell. Also...many of the games were so boring today...freeekin blowouts all over the place...

Anyone watch the one handed interception with a receiver hangin on his back at the end of the jets game by Darrel Reavis...

Yeah hes a pitt grad.

wow Pats not gonna make the playoffs...
I dunno man, I think they might. Pats are a great team because of synergy between great players. Yes, Brady was a great player, but this all depends on whether there is synergy between the new QB and the other players. It should be more fun to watch games now since the Pats are now the underdogs without their star QB.

I don't understand why you'd bring in Chris Simms or even consider it when you have Cassel who's been learning the Belichick System for four years now. Might I add he was on USC...

They would ruin any chances of a good season if Simms were to be signed.

By new QB, I meant Cassel. Apologize. Yeah, I really hope Simms does not play this season...

cassel hasnt started a game since high school. he backed up carson palmer and matt leinart at usc. then he backed up brady once he got drafted. the pats are hoping for qb skill by osmosis with cassel

Do not underestimate Cassel...it is clear that he has waited quite a long time to take center stage...he has had the football genius in bellichick and a damn good qb in brady to learn from...as well as a slew of excellent, experienced players around him...

be careful...because I have a feeling the Pats are now goin to be hungrier than ever...and expect them to go pretty far without Brady....

Not really Nikhil.....they are bringing in Simms and looking at Tim Rattay as well because if Cassell goes down, they need a serviceable backup, one who has experience in the league in lieu of in NE's system. The other qb on the roster is Kevin O' Connell, a rookie out of SDSU.....he has talent, but needs a LOT more time to develop.

brady...why do you do this to me...

the pats strength has never been individual talent (cept for last year when brady and moss shat on the nfl...) but great chemistry and a good gameplan.

and its not official that brady is out for the season. dont count on it unless he gets shifted to the IR. belichick is a shifty/sly mofo (love him) and he could be playing mind games with the nfl. its def a possibility. but it could also be me in denial/wishful thinking...i wouldnt be surprised if brady shows up week 10 or 12 or something and goes SURPRISE!! Actually belichick exploits the injury list so much that if you see brady as doubtful next week, be suspicious.

and if the giants can win with eli behind center...anythings possible.

...also, remember how ALMOST EVERY STARTING QB IN THIS LEAGUE FINALLY GETS THEIR CHANCE TO SHINE...very often it starts with an injury to a star. a few scattered min here and there in the preseason or in blowouts is no way to gauge how well matt cassel is going to perform as a starter.

Belichick has the power to disguise a player's health?
I didn't know a coach could do that. If I understand you correctly, that means if a player has a season ending injury, the coach COULD put him as doubtful instead of moving him to the IR?

Yes technically he can do this.....but the downside is that player counts towards the active roster.
