11 players on each team (6 players +1 goalie on the field, 4 subs)
2 pools consisting of 3 teams each
30 minute games
Every team is gauranteed 2 games
Top 2 teams from each pool move onto semi-finals, then a game for 3rd place followed by the finals
The tournament will be held at an indoor soccer centre
The cost to play will depend on the venue.
Refreshments will be provided

POSSIBLE DATE:
MON FEB. 16th 2009 from 1pm-6pm
TUES FEB 17th 2009 from 1pm-6pm
AT THE HERSHEY CENTRE (MISSISAUGA) $150/team
IF YOU CAN COME OUT FOR THESE DATES PLEASE LET US KNOW!

This would be a fun way to get all the teams together and compete in something other than bhangra.
If your team wants to register please msg me. We will try to contact teams via phone call also.

Just to give everyone a head up, renting out Brampton's Indoor Soccer Fields are $200 per hour and we estimating that we will need the fields for 7 to 8 hours.

Also, this is an excellent idea to bring out majority of the Toronto teams to BOND in a stress free manner and don't have to worry about competing at a Bhangra Competition; instead it will give you a chance to show us your teams' soccer skills. If it is successful the first time, we can actually make this an annual event. The estimated date is not determined yet but we are looking at Thursday or Friday possibilities during reading week.

If you need any more information, contact us through here or you can call us anytime.

Just another heads up..

We just called Hershey Centre and they have all fields available on Monday or Tuesday (Feb 16th or 17th) from 1:00pm - 6:00pm. The hourly rate here is $112. We can rent two fields: one for 5 hours and another for 3 hours. It works out to be $896 for 8 hours and if we have six teams, each team will pitch in $150. If you have 11 players, it works out to be $13.57 per person which is certainly a good deal. Remember this is during the reading week. Let me know what you guys think.

If you want to play late in the evening, the only option we have is Brampton Indoor Soccer Fields which ofcourse works out to be 25 per person.

Oh man at first I thought the $150 was towards a pool for the winners and I thought "Toronto teams found a way to compete without any bhangra competition" lol.... Have fun, guys! I feel bad for whoever would ref these games ;)

 Soccer Tournament?? THIS IS SO AWESOME!! ;D

Atinder, Charanjit, Opinder, and others involved in organizing this... it's a huge step in the right direction.. especially with the talk of Toronto bhangra teams being totally disrespectful at competitions (to other teams sometimes & to the competition itself sometimes).

Without referees, make sure people respect calls. Not so say that you can't play aggressively, but be nice to each other! At the end of the day, it's just a game that people have passion for :)

I would totally join in the fun if I was in Toronto! Best of luck guys.

P.S. - Be sure to capture some of the highlights on tape! I wanna see Toronto's l33t soccer skillz.
