Check it out and comment your thoughts/critiques/whatever, we'd love to hear everything!

We've put a lot of work into this team the past 5 years and beyond and it was definitely rewarding for us and our alumni to bring Tufts back to BBC. Shouts out to all the teams and thank you to BBC for having us. Also I know the circuit is all about originality and we are a fairly unknown team, so after seeing it pop up more I don't want anyone to think we took the criss-cross vardi pattern, we had it first at Bhangra Fever 2014 :)

Our sets from this past year and our mixes are below (shouts out to Dr. Srimix for doing most of it and DJ ASG for doing our phummaniya segment)!

First off I would like to say that this set was very clean. Choreo was decent, but something I expected from a college team. You guys do have some solid talent on your team and should definitely build on that. However, there appears to be an issue in terms of an entertainment factor. To take this set to the next level, there needs to be a X factor in either the choreo, the dancing ability of your dancers, or gimmicks. Those things were what I felt was missing and differentiated you guys from other teams. Once those things are incorporated on top of the cleanliness that your team demonstrates, this team would improve from what the bhangra circuit sees as a traditional college bhangra team to a threat. It's good to see that y'all are improving with every comp and hope that y'all push that momentum forward. Expect to see big things from you guys.

Thanks for the feedback! The goal this year is definitely to build upon the talent that we have. We're also looking to add that X factor to bring our set to the next level.

As a reference the dancers at BBC were:

Red - Derek Kallarackal/ Geetha Mahendran (myself)
Yellow: Param Chopra/Nayanika Kotagiri
Blue: Rohan Rao/ Bhavna Siva
Green: Jean-Charles Zurawicki/Riddhima Sharma
Orange: Suraj Shah/ Shivani Sinha
Pink: Sahil Shah/ Michelle Ingram

We look forward to more feedback!

Honestly a pretty kick ass performance and a pretty big step up from Srujan last year. The dancing was cleaner and higher energy across the board (esp yellow and red jodis) which was great. I thought the choreo was complex enough but I have to agree with Howie about doing something more. This is a set that can totally place at comps due to good execution but it definitely follows the collegiate team mold we all know so well. Also, the cutesy jhummar is a bit overdone in this set and you guys might want to consider revamping that to showcase a bit more dancing during the soft jhummar segment. Another thing you guys might want to take a look at is how your choreo flows. You guys hit certain steps really huge but then parts of the segment seem more like filler choreo. I would say try and move more if you guys are doing simple steps and if you are in place, hit the audience with some more memorable choreo. Great job and hope to see you guys around the circuit!

P.S. Sorry if it seems like we stole the chaadre design. We didn't realize you guys had the same thing and so it didn't cross our mind when we were running through designs with romeesh.

Really enjoyed this performance! I thought the set was kind of Fauj-esque and actually think the set had enough entertainment while incorporating more traditional bhangra segments and steps. In my opinion, this is the best collegiate set i've seen of this young competition season. I say that because 1) Energy was very solid throughout the set. 2) Dancing style was similar enough across the board. 3) Movements were clean. 4) Your mix complimented your set very well. 5) You actually sold your choreo. I've seen so many sets where dancers just walk through choreo that is supposed to be hype. You guys knew what you wanted to highlight and executed those portions of the set very well. Also red jodi was really really dope, both the guy and the girl.

However, I did feel like your props segments were too slow. The rest of your set up until your ending was also kinda slow, but i didnt mind it because you made it look good. If you can speed up props and make it slightly more intricate, I think this could/should place at a few different competitions in the spring.

Good luck!
