The teams all did a good job and everyone had solid competition.
Cornell - Great job opening the show. I would say the team overall looks more like a unit and you guys had good energy. I know you guys had a brand new dancer pick up the routine in a few hours and there were no major messups that would make that very noticeable. I liked the ending song alot (don't want to give it away) but would say really play around with that more for it to hit harder.
Rutgers - Big improvement from last year and I really liked this set. You guys had some cool formation ideas and kept a good energy all throughout. I was a little distracted by the turla of red jodi which started falling throughout the performance, but you did a good job of trying to work around that. Reeda you killed it =)
DPD - Was an 8 man live set. Good energy but definitely work on the cleanliness. I felt everyone was bringing their own style. I like the beginning saap and khunde segment combined.
DCBC - Very clean and I think most of your dancers are on the same level, which is great for the team to look like a unit.
KPGD - I think you used glasses of water with flowers in them as your place markers, which was a nice touch. You guys started very strong and have some great ideas, but really need to execute them for it to hit hard. Definitely work on the stamina of dancers, especially for those who have more front time.
DCMPAA - Live set and very clean. I definitely could see you guys placing at very traditional comps. All the dancers are on the same level and have great nakhra. Fun to watch. One of the dancers had a kato tied up to their phuman for a little bit, but worked around it and kept dancing, which is a sign of a smart dancer.
Wolverine - My favorite team of the night and I love your vardiyan. You guys were really clean and had really great energy and consistency throughout the routine. I was expecting you to place higher.
PDAP - Was very impressed. This was a huge improvement from the Burgh video I saw. You guys have stepped up in terms of cleanliness and I think you bring your own stye to the co-ed bhangra scene. Taller red girl is such a cute dancer.
Virsa Folksters - The beginning spot lights and music were a great setup, but I think you could have hit harder with the way you started out the saap segment. Went 16 and stage looked very full, but all the dancers are on very different levels stamina and energy-wise. I guess you might be training the new dancers, so the unity will come with time.
SSNY - Good job with one of your first performances. You guys had a point where you did some cool betka effect on the side stage with 3 lines (I think it was you) - that was one part of the routine I remember. Keep working at it to become better as a team because you have good ideas.
NYPD - Obviously did a great job. I liked your Boston set much better in terms of creativity. I think what kept you back from first was the cleanliness and could have hit formations harder. But still a very nice job ending the show.
Overall, I think the crowd was there mostly for Virsa and Sarbjit Cheema. No one had any idea Wolverine was being announced for third and there was no crowd reaction for a bit which was a little awkward. I wish Sarbjit Cheema could have performed for longer with music and dancers, since he was only there for 10 minutes or so at the end.
