i applaud your efforts to bring the folk dance Sammi to a national stage and showcasing some novel sammi boliyan that people haven't heard. I don't mean any offense here, but your sammi performance, tempo, moves bears little resemblance to the sammi i have seen performed in Punjab (as taught by ustaad garib dass). No finger pointing going on here, but I was just curious as to where you learned these steps as "Sammi" steps and what was your inspiration?
Thanks and best of luck!

govind, correct me if i am wrong but i remember reading something gibb translated and it said that sammi was a dance done by the 'jungli' women of what is now pakistan punjab. any more info on the context and content of the dance?

It was great .. I expected more clapping though. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't clapping a big part of sammi and also using rumaals?. Also I read somewhere sammi dance is based on Princess Sammi and her seperation.
