lol bhangra in the UK, i doubt it. I went to the UK this summer, and it was impossible for us to find a bhangra team for a cuzins wedding. And were talking in Birmingham and even Southhall.

Kiddha Tucker!
You are always welcome to help out Suruj Bhangra :D or my new team.
Bhangra in the UK is really bad atm, it's all weird to me after watching so many videos of Canadian and American teams.
I wish to move to Toronto :'(
No competitions sorry :(

hey tucker, depending on where your going to uni there may well be a team. At the moment there's only one competition here and thats strictly unis only so you would be able to take part if your uni chose to. It's called the bhangra showdown, happens around dec/jan time they keep switching it.

and tdotpunjabi i don't know which version of birmingham you were in, but there's plenty of bhangra teams there and in southall, the midlands is littered with them, gabru punjab de, easily one of if not the most well known team in the uk is from birmingham they are the ones in nearly every bhangra video you see these days...aashiq...jk's gabru punjab da etc, so you were most likely asking the wrong people or looking in the wrong place.

so when is the traditional bhangra wave gonna hit the UK? Faysal, make it happen dude. I wanna see UK teams come to at least east coast comps. That would be cool.

i would say by the time pritpals old enough to fly over and compete we should be somewhere close to where the NA scene is now, theres a couple teams here including my own pushing the folkness, or trying lol, only thing is, we have one comp A YEAR total and that unis only that are lame, just do a quick search of the bhangra showdown 2009 on youtube, doesn't breed the evolution of the dance too quickly, and im not in the most prime of locations to be promoting bhangra to the uk unfortunately :(

damnn oxford huh lol so your smart and have ridiculous amounts of money for international student fees! haha jkes aside yea you'll prob struggle to find people wanting to do bhangra there. Davs team is in leicester so still north of you lol, there are teams in london already though like virsa punjab and couple others they just aren't all that well known, just google uk bhangra teams!

***just saw your last post lol they're all uni students in final year ish or graduates so they're probably only a year or two younger than you buddy :)**
