i dunno if i feel bad for the thread cuz it just got kiiillleddd., or bad for kinnell that he took the time to write that. or that i read it all. every last word. i just feel bad about it all..it's all bad...all bad...

but yeah the Braille dots thing is a cool question actually, that question and other interesting queries were presented in a very nice book that i loved reading (similar to freakonomics) The Economic Naturalist. Check it out! I'll list some of the ones i remember here:

1) Why milk cartons are square but soda bottles (2L ones) are cylindrical?
2) Why are DVD cases larger than CD cases if the contents (the actual disc) are the same size?
3) Why women's clothing buttons from the left but men's clothing from the right?
4) Movie Theaters in India have reserved seating but here in US/Canada u can like moviehop basically as much as u want, hahaha (and there's rarely reserved seating here).
5) Why is there a light in ur fridge but not ur freezer?

Some easy ones:
6) Why 24hr convenience stores have locks on the doors?
7) Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

And..
8] The whole gas-door thing (why do some cars have opening to the gas tank on the L and others on the Right)?
9) Why does renting a $20,000 car for one day cost $40, but renting a $500 tuxedo for a day costs $90?

9 is a good number i like 9. btw how do you type an 8 with a parenthesis after it, it always turns into an emoticon! haha

Women's clothing buttons are on the other side because back in the day, servants used to dress women whereas men used to dress themselves, so it was easier for servants to dress the women if the buttons were on the other side.

As for renting a tux I think it has to do with the depreciation of the asset (the car or the tux) in the one day period.

are zebras white with black stripes or black with white stripes?
what hurts more getting kicked in the balls or giving birth? (i feel like this one might have been from friends)
when a cyclops shuts its eyes is it considered blinking, or winking?

Because, when DVD's came out storeowners such as blockbuster were not happy with the idea of buy new shelving for the smaller cases for DVD's. So, instead they made DVD cases the size of VHS's.
