Hey Everyone,

First off, We would like to thank the Burgh committee, judges, and our amazing liaisons Aatish and Taryn for a wonderful competition! This was a really important weekend for us and we couldn't of asked for anything more! The competition was well run and everyone were truly kind!

A huge congratulations goes out to SMD and FCB! You all absolutely wrecked and definitely deserved your placings!

Thank you to Shreepal and Harman for tying paags for us on such a short notice, we really appreciate it! And thank you so much to CBS, DCMPAA, Duke and ESA for letting us borrow chunnis!

Another thanks goes out to Kuntal Shah for helping out this weekend with filming and getting everything together. Couldn't of done it without you!

Lastly, I just want to tell the rest of my team how proud I am of all them. They have worked so hard the past few weeks to get where they are! Rani and Pooja, you two are the best co-captains to have <3

Really glad to see UNC back at burgh and killing it.


Things that I liked -

- Dhamaal - Yeshel you killed the chaal
- Phummania
- End - hype and good stuff.


Overall, a really good set where dancers were executing at the same level across the board.

Couple of things to work on -

1. Chaal in outside of the chaal at the dhamaal. You guys go super hard and low during the end of the dhamaal but its not there throughout the set.
2. Saaps looked a little rushed at parts and people arent fully extending - easy fix, but more reps here would do wonder.
3. Stage presence at times was lacking. Have fun guys! Crowd interactions weren't as great as interactions between dancers.

it is good to see unc returning to the caliber of its glory days - kuntal told me before you guys started that "yo unc is back" but i was like "blah blah kuntal ta avain bolda rehnda" and then a few seconds into your performance it was evident that what he said was true

i would like to specifically call out abhay qureshi in the red for handling his ace bandage malfunction like a boss, despite competing at his first competition at BAB just a couple months ago - and looking particularly sexy on stage.

mad props to the captains yeshel, rani, and pooja (i think you three are the captains?) for bringing your team to this level, and along with radhika and abhay, doing really well on stage.

the newer dancers did not dance like new dancers - once you guys get everyone to maintain their posture a bit stronger and add a smudge of more modhey and chest into your steps your team is going to look next level.

maybe ill try and break a few knees and try and slip into your dancer's lineup for the next comp

This performance took me by surprise. I'm extremely impressed by how well prepared the overall team was for the competition. Hats off to the captains for that.

I imagine you guys got 3rd over other teams because of this. Because you were extremely clean, and made very little to no mistakes. The routine was one you guys could handle and get max value out of it.

Burgh is an early comp, and I think you guys got away with it. And here's why:

The overall difficulty of the routine didn't match up to others at the competition. It's definitely something to ramp up as the team gets better and more confident.

The biggest area for improvement in my eyes, is overall team confidence and audience engagement.

To start, the first 24 beats or so, (after the sher) there was 0 audience engagement. The formation is cool and all. But no one showed that to the audience. It seemed as if the only thing that mattered was hitting the formation. Which in a sense was a good thing, but it made on thing clear: The only thing that mattered to the team was making 0 mistakes and that sacrificed good facial expressions/audience engagement.

One girl in blue was the only one on stage that looked like she was enjoying the routine. Everyone else may have had a smile, but it was a smile that was painted on, with some sort of underlying concern to make sure they weren't out of formation. There was quite a bit of obvious looking at markers as well, which took away from confidence.

To me, its a huge part of bhangra. The enjoyment, the audience engagement. When you're actually enjoying and engaging, you look way more confident.

And I'd imagine, at future comps, you won't be able to get away with this stuff.

If you guys can start harnessing that, you guys will have a very successful season.
