Hi all,

Here is the official video to our winning performance at The Bhangra Showdown 2017. The rankings were UoB 1st, Kings 2nd, Aston 3rd.

Sukhi Dhillon & myself had the pleasure of captaining the team and choreoing this set and we hope you guys enjoy it as much as we did making it! Mix will also be released very soon. Any feedback is appreciated.

Hardo [UoB/GCC]

Most teams sacrifice cleanliness because they want to experiment with complex formations but on the other hand people say if you are too clean then the formations are 'boring'.

This set is so beautiful that it is clean AF and with creative formations. Ive been to 3 TBSs and after the 2014 one, this set has to the best one UoB has done. Both the male/female Red jodis smashed it. Even though other dancers may not be at the same level yet as Hardo and Sukhi, they still gave one of their best performances. I think UoB's high standards are here to stay for another few years with these young dancers developing so quickly.

PS- whoever came up with the choreo from 6.35 to 7.21 killed it as it complimented the mix so well. The move at 7.06 and the bethke after oh my days!

Amazing performance! Dancing was top notch (with just a few errors here & there) and I really enjoyed many of the formations. That stage in unreal! You guys did a great job covering it.

Please come to a competition in the U.S. :) I would love you guys go up against some of NA's best collegiate teams.

Thanks for sharing,

~ Basim :)

From a dancing perspective this is crazy. I mean unbelievable energy and just sheer execution from dancers 1-16. The fact that you guys are collegiate makes all of us here across the pond scratch our heads as to how you all train dancers so well. Really great job!

One thing I always wanted to ask UK teams, though, was if you guys feel like a lot of UK mixes sound similar? I felt like the music choice for a lot of the sets at TBS sounded a bit similar and so I think there was a bit of similarity in segment design. I sometimes feel like by speeding up the song and increasing the pitch (taking away a lot of the emphasis from the singing itself), I kind of lose the feel of the original song and I was wondering what you guys thought of that? Nonetheless, great set and congratulations!
