Thank you forth effort. Honestly though at that size, a torrent would be much easier to distribute

I'm not so sure if this is a good idea. Mixes will begin to sound very similar and many loops could become overused and a lot of mixers' unique beats will be on there. Many talented mixers have spent hours and hours looking for these loops and now they will be in the hands of those who don't use them properly. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that, but I don't know maybe others will feel that way as well. I feel you should of kept it for yourself. But that's just me. Prop tho for putting all this together!

Thats what kept me from posting these in the first place. I thought about this several times and always said NO. But I feel that even if these come in the wrong hands, its okay. If we use what we have now, only then can we create new things. We cannot just rely on these loops for like a good 10 year span. Once people will hear all of these loops and get bored, new ones will be out by then. I am not going against what you are saying. I completely understand your point of view. But hope only good comes out of this.

I totally agree with gsimz.. although it will help new people in making mixes, it will hurt all teams in general because of the same sounding mixes teams will have. I guess every team mixes' uniqueness will be lost in a way. True, I, like many others love to hear new and great mixes, but after a while, almost all mixes will be almost the same.
Anyways, its great that you collected all of these, but i think placing these loops in front of everyone will just be detrimental in the future!

As I said earlier, I agree with both Gsimz and you, Vaibhav. But we are talented youth. If we really want our remixes or bhangra team mixes to sound "unique", we would save up a few bucks and head to a studio. These days, its not hard or expensive to use a studio. Best Buy offers their music studio with a sound engineer for only $20/hour. And we got tons of talented dholis and other musicians.

Other than that, if people still want to hear "unique" mixes, then someone should go through every punjabi song from the past 5 years and chop off beats, the way its been done so far. For example, any Miss Pooja type of song has dhol/dadh loops any dj can use.

And hopefully, this creates some competition for the DJs and so called "producers". Well, not in a bad way. Now days, most punjabi artists rely on these types of loops. Sukhinder Shinda is the only person I can name who can make real music, the way its supposed to be done.

So if everyone feels this is a bad idea, just dont download it or report to the admin, so they can close the thread. :D
I mean, is this all the creativity we have? Working off of pre-made loops?? I hope not.

I agree with all the statements made above and it is important that we all know that to be the best at what we do, we must not rely on the basic things. Yes, this is a great contribution and help to the our bhangra community, but lets not let this cap our creativity. Use it as a tool as it is meant to be. But in the end I think no matter what happens, teams will always find a way to stand out in the mixes they dance too.

You need a torrent downloading program such as Vuze (what I currently use), Bittorrent, or Utorrent, these programs are necessary in order to download these types of torrent files. Once you download the torrent file you have to open it with the program and then watch it download. If your still confused pm me or w/e. Good luck.

P.S. - Oh and be sure to be safe when downloading, because you are sharing with everyone and never download bad torrents. I never share due to the fact you are pirating basically.

Karan,

Download a torrent application, such as Vuze aka "Azurues" (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/). If you don't like this one, there are tons of other ones out there.

Once you install Vuze, just drag the .torrent file (that "weird" file) into the program. If there are seeders (people sharing the file), your download will start automatically.

Just remember to leave your Vuze program running after you've completed the download fully, so that you begin uploading (sharing the file) with others. Like they say, sharing is caring ;)

Hope that helps,

~ Basim :)

Edit - street beat me to it!
