Hey BTF!


Here's our video from TDot Bhangra last weekend where we placed 3rd. Thanks to the liaisons Maathury and Tobin, TDot committee, and all of our supporters for the great weekend! And congrats to all the other competing teams, it was a very exciting competition to watch.

We would love any comments or feedback on our set as we get ready for next semester.

Thanks to Harjot and GTV for this amazing video of our performance at Bhangra in the Burgh 7! We had an amazing time hanging out with all of the competing teams the whole weekend - congrats to FCB, Cornell, and GMU for your placings! Special shoutout to all of our amazing alumni who came down to Pittsburgh for BIB7 and joined us on stage at the end of our performance. We are also blessed to have a campus team at CMU who also jumped on stage for the finale. We hope you have as much fun watching as we had performing!

This team never fails to impress.

Shawn Samir- you both have become amazing dancers and passion just radiates from you guys when you're on stage. Sid you've become an amazing dancer as well and killed it in the front for the bolo tararara. Vsai- stay sexy. Mitra you know u got it like Beyoncé. Yasmine you are a more amazing dancer than I ever knew! Tambe, marry me?

I got to watch you guys a few times as you prepped for burgh, and it was actually inspirational! Your team has a unique style that incorporates high risk choreo that always ends up hitting. Too many teams are taking it easy and making sure they're cleani but not challenged. CMU consistently delivers clean, energetic and difficult performances. Without a doubt one of my favorite coed teams of the past 2 years.

Big shoutout to shreepal. You are a behind the scene guy that will be even more dangerous on stage. I am really looking forward to your next performance. Amazing set and great job this semester.

I can feel the warm winds of dc in March (elite) starting to blow this way.

CMU has consistently gotten better every single year for like the last five years. This was a great performance and congrats on the placing! Please don't change the style up - it's refreshing.

First off -

I honestly wish there was a better view. Yellow jodis look like the physical embodiment of the sun....


Second -

Really love this team as both dancers and as people. I think you guys have a style that really stands out and is unique in relation to the rest of the circuit! It is, like Prasant said, really refreshing to see.


Critiques:

First impressions, this set has a lot of x-factors that are really well done, but the dancing itself could be better and cleaner. I think its more apparent at the beginning of the set and some of the choreo in between, but small instances of moving out of line, extra motions in steps, and not synchronizing some things (people getting low) happen often in the set. The team really hit the Intense choreography and X-Factor material, but not so much the dancing in between.



Big fan of both prop segments and everything up until the punjab segment. I thought they really hit well and flowed together.

Punjab dragged and jugni didnt hit as hard(I think it was a bit too predictable). The end also suffered from lack of concise movement and energy from dancers in the back. Also a lot of the cool things you do seemed hidden(but it might be just this view).

Overall, I think this set will always be in the contention for placings, but I would make the some of your change of pace songs slower and the end hit harder for future competitions. The style by itself will always distance you from other teams at competitions, so I think its just a general cohesion in dancers and familiarity with the set that needs worked on.

Overall, amazing job(and I would do individual shoutouts but I love you all too much)

Harman - Thank you so much for the love. Really, it means so much. Not towards me, but towards CMU Bhangra as a team.

Ram - On behalf of all of CMU I really appreciate all the feedback. There is definitely plenty of areas for improvement, and we will take your feedback into account. Seriously. We are already working on what you suggested, and hopefully you'll appreciate the set and changes more next semester!

WOW YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME! Love watching CMU dance. I was just wondering though if anyone knew what the song was at 4.56?
