I've always been a huge fan of CMU mixes. They always sound really different and the extensive use of samples throughout show some clear research and a good head for music on the mixer. This mix was no different, and I look forward to bumping this on my iPod.
Some highlights for me:
Intro: The rock style you guys use always gets me super hype. Great mix
The build up to the drop of Sanehvaal using on to the next one was dope
Love the use of backseat freestyle and the transition instrumental after it
Everything from supserstar to the end, especially the swimming pools break
Things I thought could have been better:
Not a huge fan of the crazy in love mix, I just didn't really think the songs complemented each other that well. I love the idea and crazy in love always get me hyped.
Also wasn't a fan of the bolo tara as a song, but that's just personal preference. Maybe mix it with another instrumental to give it a modern twist? I feel like lemonade by gucci mane might work?
Actually that's about it for things I didn't like. This mix overall is one of my new favorites. I also really like the intricate lyric and beat chopping you guys use for transitions, it really smoothens it out especially when bpm changes are drastic. The one into superstar sounded a bit awkward, but honestly that was only after i listened like five times.
