Hi guys,
I understand some teams are using cones or markers during performances and I am not sure if anyone has bought this up on BTF. Captaining a team for many years I understand the importance of having markers during practice to get people in the habit of positioning and re-positioning themselves during the routine. Making formations symmetrical and clean is about the hardest part of teaching a routine I think.
BUT, I do not think they should be used in performances. It is distracting (i am looking at these bright coloured cones instead of the dancers time to time), and shows that the team does not have trust in each other. Teams must learn to position of each other as well as the markers that organizers put on a stage during a performance (but again positioning of each other is more important).
I think the use of markers/cones in competitions should not be allowed. Would be interested to hear your thoughts.
