Hey Folks!

So after starting VanCity Bhangra Girls in January 2016, they have competed 3 times. Winning 2 and placing second at LOB3. It feels great to showcase a girls team under VanCity Bhangra. This team shows great dedication to the art and will continue to grow over the years with your constructive feedback!

Here are the videos from Elite Bhangra (May 2017) and Legacy of Bhangra (Sept 2017)

ELITE BHANGRA - First place

LEGACY OF BHANGRA - Second place

Please leave some love and feedback for our dancers and coaches to take back to the drawing board.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Very enjoyable set. Song selection was awesome and loved the Jazzy B cameo.
I always love watching VanCity choreo because it's so smooth and the moves flow so perfectly into the next motion. Kudos to the people making choreo and well done to all the dancers who executed it so nicely.
Congratulations on the placings and I hope to see VanCity compete more often. Bring back the senior boys!!

Watched the Elite Bhangra performance and holy crap, the pink girl after losing her chunni completely destroys it. Nakhre and energy were on point. There were some issues that I'm sure the academy has addressed with leaning over too much, loss of smiles, and the props segment being sloppier than I would expect from a first-place routine, but still amazed with how strong this team is. Best of luck with future competitions.

Excellent performances overall. I noticed many moves being executed in a slightly varied of ways by different dancers, especially at Elite. Check your jhoomar segment at 4:57 as an example and notice that some dancers are looking up when executing the moves, while others look directly at the audience. It's unfortunate about the chunni incident, but hey.. some things are just uncontrollable and I feel your dancers held themselves well despite this hiccup. If your team can execute moves together better (i.e. up to the level of your strongest dancers), I feel your team has a very strong chance to place at just about any competition with a music section.

Loved your choreography, music selection, and energy.

Overall, I'm really happy to see such a strong girl's only team out there. It reminds me of the days that SMD used to compete frequently and dominate the scene (most co-ed/all-guy teams would be forced to bring their A-game if they knew SMD was in the lineup).

Fix up the little things and continue to bring the excellent choreography. Look forward to your future performances.
