wellll seing that it was the same routine as blowout i compared it to then....and it wasn't the perfect cleanliness i was used to out of VCU. Still hit most formations and good dancers all around but seems like you guys got some new people dancing that weren't there in April. Curious to see other videoss!

Personally, I didn't feel this set at all. Ending song choice I thought was pretty bad too and some of the dancers seemed to be out of sync.

*just extending my review a little bit:
One thing we've always seen out of VCU is that cleanliness...dancers are usually perfectly synchronized, formations are perfectly hit...there is no room for error. Here however you can see even among jodis that dancers arent the same. The yellow jodi looked very different from eachother. Jumps were off. Formations seemed to be forgotten at some points.
Having said that though, I cant imagine what sort of pressure the Newbies are facing...aka VCUs legacy. As newbies you guys danced really well so congrats about that! Keep working at cleanliness in general and im sure the alum have given you guys a great place to start the year off. Cant wait to seee what you guys bring to burgh!

Rookies as in freshies? If so then mad props for learning two routines at once (assuming a brand new burgh set, of course). Biggest thing I noticed was fitness and cleanliness. It's early, so you should be able to fix that relatively easily. You also seem to lack the "star power" you've had in the past, i.e. dancers/jodi that stands out from everyone else, but I imagine the video quality has something to do with that. Aside from that I'm looking forward to Burgh. Good luck!

Thanks guys. I know they're reading this and really appreciating it. Yes rookies as in freshman. We're fortunate to have a huge talent pool in Richmond and the thing is these younger generations are more talented in everything they do, so recruiting is going to be fruitful for many colleges for the next years.

Nice new outfits, though it kinda sucks that both DCBC and PANJ co ed have the exact same color scheme. Can't wait to see what you guys have in store for Burgh, hope the new people are up to the challenge of the threepeat.
One thing I wonder is how this exact same performance would have looked on a more impressive stage. Obviously you guys lost some high quality dancers, but I think a stage like Blowout with all of its crazy lighting and sound and stuff would have covered up a lot of the mistakes. We saw this last year at Bhangra Allstars, the stage was just crappy and it made everyone's performance look pretty amateurish. I think the Burgh stage and the huge audience it brings will make you guys look a lot better.
Work on the new dancers' execution, it's very apparent who they are in this video. Shahrukh looks completely different from his smaller counterparts in yellow. But yeah, you guys prolly know this stuff already, so gl at Burgh.

edit 2: haha did you guys just use PANJ's vests? guess you guys really are saving your stuff for Burgh

comparing to the old VCU def need to step it up.
otherwise things that need to be worked on:
remember the moves: Best thing to do, If you can play the mix and dance the whole chero through and not forget a moves, then you will be ok on stage.
stage presence: this is something that comes with years of experience, but shouldn't be your excuse. Practice watching yourself dance and ask your self do i look cute/sexy/ and cocky. when you don't look like one of those three at any point of your performance, work on it.
the dance: sometimes I feel like teams try new things and it logical sounds sick but doesn't look sick on stage or because people are turning different ways to make it looks sick, it might take away from the effect.

idk i didnt feel it i was not vcu standards to me it was sloppy and it was not sync. and yeah it was like they have not danced before with each other well thats a duh cuz it is a new squad lol also i felt like the new guy in the yellow the shorter one was kinda like doing alittle to much not trying to sound rude or nothing just to trying to say guys should clean up well really thats about it and im alittle confused like i thought that at like burgh 3, elite 8, and stuff those were the new dancers??? someone wanna clear things up for me???

Thank you very much everyone for the feedback. This is only going to help us and our next generation.
In regards to last years per competition shuffle: We had a consistent percentage of the same dancers but a couple of them were subbed in and out depending on the competition. I hope that clears it up!
