judging by the first few responses.. something seems wrong with the placings
people need to step up and host new competitons (one that aren't rigged) its a big task but it seems bhangra is being destroyed by rigged competitions.

The last couple of competition standings have REALLY been questionable, it feel like you cant just be the best team to have preformed that night to win anymore. Apart from Jawani ive been hardpressed to find a competiton lately who's standings were mutaully agreed apon. It's really a shame. I hate to see teams that worked so hard and sweat their asses off to be the best they could and not be rewarded for their efforts.
All that can be said is keep your heads up for those teams that didnt place where they should have, and know that your efforts, which may have been overlooked by judges, were not overlooked by those on this site.

Lets be honest guys,
Bhangra is no longer fun anymore, and ill tell you guys why. If a team that's a favorite, lets say for example at VIBC, Panj. If they dont place, everyone on BTF starts going, "omg" "wtf" "RIGGED". A lot of the time, something like "synchrony" may cost a team 6-7 points. Or some teams might lose points on "stamina". And you CANT see that in a VIDEO. I'll tell you guys one thing, ive been doing bhangra for 13 years, and i'm not great anymore, BUT in the videos, its REALLLY hard to differentiate between my good performances and the bad ones.
And for the people who are AT the competitions, most of the time, they either agree with placings or one of their friends is on the team so they say its bs. I can tell you guys that I have tons of friends on different teams, but when they dont place, it does make me mad. I do get upset and think, HEY, WTF!
Also 90% of the time, its not the judges, its the CRITERIA! And lets be honest guys, traditionalism is most of the time worth much less than "entertainment" or "synchronization". Bhangra's getting worst because of competitions inability to try to reach out the the bhangra community to ask them what we believe is a proper criteria. Or asking QUALIFIED people what a criteria looks like.
If you go tell VIBC that traditionalism and completion of moves is more important than anything, they will TOTALLY disregard you.
Bhangra needs a GOVERNING BODY. Set rules that COMPETITIONS must follow. That's the only way we will ever see bhangra get better. There are easily over a hundred teams in North America, yet it takes organizations like NHL, NFL, MLB only 32 teams to make an AWESOME organization.
Remember guys, EVERYONE SWEATS and works hard, not just the teams that everyone loves and favours. Just because a team didn't place and its questionable, doesn't mean their sweat was worth more than anyone else s.

Just 'cuz they aren't going to Boston, E8, VIBC, etc. doesn't mean they don't aspire or work to get to that level...Or maybe they just work hard to simply have fun on stage and be proud of what they worked for after a performance. I miss when bhangra was like thaaaat...
