To start off, I just wanted to say it has been an absolute pleasure captaining these wonderful individuals at Virginia Tech this year. Truly a very talented group in all aspects. Special shout-out to our seniors Rajat and Divya who are graduating this semester. Thanks for all the help and support throughout this journey. Wish you both the best of luck in the future! Another shout-out to our freshmen Divita and Meet for grinding through their first year of Bhangra at Virginia Tech. You guys have both improved substantially since you entered the program. Keep up the good work! Finally, couldn't have gotten through this year without the help of my dearest co-captains Surabhi and Karan. Thank you for all of your contributions towards the growth of this team. We've really come a long way since the beginning of last semester.

Below is the link to our performance. As a young team in the circuit, we would appreciate any constructive criticism you guys have.

much improved since your motor city performance, it seemed like you guys were having a lot of fun on stage which is awesome. I really enjoyed watching the orange girl she had really good energy and form.

I don't mean for this to be a generic comment but you guys had a lot of energy but it was uncontrolled energy which translated into bad form and mismatching dancers. if you guys can control the energy the dancers were bringing the set would definitely have been cleaner and better.

also i liked your khunde chaal it was different

Loved the set! Kunde chaal and ending were really unique and fun to watch - the guys sold it really well, y'all definitely put your own stamp on it. The best part about your team imo is that I think I can look at any guy or girl and still enjoy watching the performance. With only a couple people graduating, you guys are going to have a great coming year no doubt, hope we get to share the stage at some point. Congrats on a great performance!

And Surbs...you murked it as usual. One of the best girls on the circuit for sure!

wow the execution of this set is so much better than it was at mcb! i like jugni a lot. one thing to work on is getting your dancers to the same level. Yellow guy is a dope dancer, high energy and nakhra, low and wide on everything. looked awesome. congrats guys!

Awesome set guys! Energy was amazing and def saw some creativity there. Loved the nakhra, it's always great for audience interaction. Some things to work on: The energy was all over the place, so keep it consistent with everyone else. Complete your moves, some dancers didn't finish and was in a rush to get to the next one. Extend you arms and legs. Bounce your modhe in the khunde pause. A lot of you guys got lazy at parts and didn't pick up your legs, especially the guys, you guys are wearing chadre, so you all need to pick up your legs. Don't get lazy. Towards the end, a lot of you looked dead. Fix your chadre, some of you had some slight issues. The ending, I was not a fan of because when the two guys came out, it looked slightly half asses especially because you guys didn't really pick up your legs. This goes for all guys out in the circuit that they need to pick up their legs and not get lazy just because they think people won't notice when they are in chadre. Overall, great job, keep it up guys! Can't wait to see more.

First off, thanks to Anish for helping CMU out with our last paghan before going on stage. Always a blast hanging with you. Special callout for Rajat for killing it again. To the freshmen, hope you enjoyed the competition because your faces definitely showed it!

Been said, but I will reiterate that it was much better than MCB. Saw you guys live at both comps, and the performance value was off the charts at NKD. It was mentioned that your two guy transition in the finale was a little weak, but I loved the new ending. Much more powerful, and all of your dancers were more energetic in the finish. Really liked your dhamaal segment too. I liked a lot of your song selection too, props to the mixer.

Improvements: Across the board, I would say that laziness contributed to this lack of synchronicity from the dancers. People executed steps differently and clarifying specifics can really help cleanliness. Don't lose energy significantly in resting segments. Your phummania segment looked weak in the legs especially and even if it is a nakhra interactive segment, you can't lose that.

Overall great job guys. Best of luck to you guys in your future comps!

surabhi and divita pls teach me how to bhangra :)

i enjoyed the set, but i can see how this would have been deliberated out of a placing here or at a different competition. you all have some extremely strong dancers and some that are still getting there, which makes it hard for a panel to put you up there just on the basis of execution. for me, the entertainment from watching the strong dancers outweighed the others...but not everyone will agree!

having a bit more "identity" will help make you all stand out next year. i think the toughest thing for college co-ed teams is to build that distinct brand and elevate themselves from the typical cute-jodi-jhummar-starting-with-saaps-bass-drop-dhamaal-weird-way-of-bringing-out-khunde land. y'all have some creative leadership, so expecting big things next year.
