Vocals vs beats

So In the past 2 or so season I've noticed mixer have focused more on the beats (may it be produced or mashed) are more prominent or important compared to the original song.


I'm not going to point out any mixers, nearly all the mix last season alone all I heard were back beats while the vocals were drowned in it.

Am I the only one noticing this?
