WARNING: Dancing outside

Apparently the Rutgers team also burned their feet dancing outside on pavement. We (Columbia) did the same thing last year, resulting in pretty painful second degree burns. I couldn't walk for a week.

SO I thought I would take the opportunity to warn all of you to think twice before dancing barefoot outside. Or go ahead and dance, but send us pictures of pained expressions.

You have no idea. We had to be carried to urgent care and the whole team wore orthopedic shoes and carried canes for a week. I think we have a hilarious video somewhere, Rajkaran?

dude, didnt you go out onto the pavement and say "hey, MY FEEET ARE KIND OF HOT, MAYBE WE SHOULDN'T PRACTICE HERE"? Im really curious to know what made you guys practice in that condition because you would know right away how hot the ground is once you stepped on it.

Hahaha it was a performance so we stuck it out instead of walking off in the middle of the dance. By the time it got unbearable it was too late... :'(

ahah samething happen to us, we had a performance outside and unfortunately the stage was too hot and mannn it killlleddd our feeeet and it took a good 2 weeks for ma feet to get better

We had the organizers of an on campus show drag bags of ice over the stage once because it was too hot. It worked pretty well.

thats gotta hurt, I remember two years ago, we performed at the West Coast Bhangra Fest in Richmond. The stage was setup out doors and it was a black wooden stage. The stage was cooking all mornings and by the time we went on it was burning up. We felt it at the beginning but kept dancing, not even halfway through, our feet were burned to the point that our skin was sticking to the stage. we had to end our performance early and get off and get treated for burns. Then went back out and performed it on the grass with blisters on our feet. Not the greatest idea, now the stage is kept indoors, lol

shoot even inside stages can be dangerous. a few years back at nation we performed after nachdi jawani, one of their khundas i think got stuck in a low-hanging chandelier putting broken glass on the stage. the organizers tried to sweep it off but we had a few bleeding dancers at the end. i cant imagine what happened to nachdi jawanis feet having to dance thru it all lol i think the dancer in question actually took a shot at the chandelier in anger after that

the worst is getting a staple in your foot, happened to me...i think it might have come off of a khunda or something, but i didnt feel it until i finished performing and it was stick in my heel, lol

Or glass bangles. One team's bangles broke onstage at Boston and cut up our feet.
