Great Weekend!! Had a blast with all the teams! Congrats to BABC, Capital, and ABC!
I will give a very short review.
UCI Rangla: Great performance. Felt that some of the dancers engery died down. One of the guys' pagh almost fell off, the turla and half of what was tied, which made him mess up in the end. I personally wasn't feeling the 10 men, i felt ur 12 men set was stronger. Overall, it was a solid performance.
Bhangra Regiment: Damn, you guys stepped it up!! New vardiyan looked SICK!!!! Some of the moves weren't executed to the max, and some dancers got tired as well. But you guys stepped it up so much, I can see you guys placing at CSUN. You guys got jipped from Best Dressed, that was straight bs.
Apna Bhangra Crew (ABC): All I can say is, DAMN!!!! Now that's what I call a performance!! It was amazinggggg. So creative, so much nakhra, it was amazinggg. Video can prove it.
Bhangra Knights: New vardiyan looked sickkk!! But I still love the black multi-colored. Energy was off the chartss, as usual. One of the guys' in yellow chadar was tied low, I was scared that it would fall, but it didnt. You guys ripped the stage, excellent.
Cal Bhangra: First competing comp, in which you guys did very well. Great routine, however the energy of the girls is what brought it down a bit. Step up with the energy, give more nakhra, and be more enthusiased about being on stage. I saw 2 dancers that werent smiling the whole routine, they looked like they were mad. Can't let that happen.
NSM^2: Half Live and Half music. Singer was legitt. However, I didn't really see a wow factor in the performance.
Capital Bhangra: All live. Same dholi as Heeray's. Had 3 heeray dancers. Legit performance. The singer choked up a couple times. It seemed like a performance more with the dhol only, cuz the singer barely sang.
Bay Area Bhangra Club: Great performance. Great energy. The problem that I had in you routine was that, all of your dancers were on a different page, different styles.
Virse De Waris: You guys were soooo LEGITT!!!!! It was amazingg!!!! Great energy, great nakhra. Amazingg!!
My opinion in placings:
1. ABC
2. VDW
3. BK/BABC

in my opinion Capital did not deserve to place. No hating or anything but i saw a lot of things go wrong in their performance that i didn't see in other performances. The girls lacked a lot of energy and looked tired. Several mistakes were made. I'm no one to judge but if your singer messes up in a live segment, points should be deducted right? because the singer is part of the team and the whole set entirely ..it also shows a lack of preparedness. Other then that you guys can be your own judges when the videos come up. This is solely my opinion.
VDW/BK-deserved to place something. BK, i too miss your black vardiyan..but the new ones are also very nice.
BABC-Tore the stage apart! Great set and super amount of energy. There were minor mistakes but the performance made up for it. Prabjyot ripped everybody a new one! Opening sher...OMG!! LOWED IT!
BR-I'm sorry to say, got robbed of the best dressed trophy! Their vardiyan were by far the best ones on that stage. Its not fair that the two lady judges chose who got the award just because they liked the phulkariyan of the girls on NSM^2..where did the guys vadiyan for that team fall under that? Obviously not very good judges where most of them can't even vote for a simple thing like best dressed and they refused to do it, letting the two female judges decide. :

just to clarify about the singer...we had a singer prepared for the competition but he had to leave to india for personal matters the week of the show,we found our singer for warrior the day before the competition and he did the best he could,singing boliyan for a complete live set is not something that can be picked up and perfected a day before the competition

That's totally understandable...stuff like that happens and we can't do much about it...but the other stuff still applies. I still think you guys could've brought a stronger set. Ive seen capital do a lot better! =) And that night there were teams that came out with better sets and energy. No hard feelings...i don't have anything against you guys lol. Its just a little constructive criticism.

I don't know what was going on with the judges, but placements were definitely ridiculous and surprising. No hard feeling about this, but I don't agree with them one bit, in my perspective.
BABC - Great performance, but did not deserve first.I saw mistakes and i don't think they're performance overall was a big wow factor. & don't think it was worthy of first place. Also they're routine was very long, 30 seconds over the time limit, it was 11: 30. which at some points did get pretty boring.
Capital,same thing. I understand that at last minute they had problems getting a singer and all, but this is not about sympathy, or anything. In the end all that matters is the performance and what you bring to the stage. The singer was struggling NUMEROUS times, and everyone could tell. The routine was really good!! and for live, first time, i think they did very well. Saw a few mistakes here and there, but what killed it was the singer, because singer is one the most important things for live. and the jhoomer he was singing really fast at one point, and other times he didn't even sing at all, because he forgot the lines or w/e happened. They did a good job, dancers were good, but it was more like them placing 4th, not second.
ABC- theres not even a word to describe how amazing that performance was. So legiitttttt. Seriously, killed that routine. hands down, best performance, no mistakes, great nakhra, stamina, gimmicks, creativity, style, formations, everything, it was an absolutely flawless performance. DEFINITLY deserved first. no doubt. 3rd? whatever. thats straight bs. nothing else said.
VDW- they were greatt! loved watching themm, even though it was from the side view, they had great energy, and a good ass routine! def desereved placing.
BK- excellent job!! as always, outstanding energy and always bringing a great performance on stage.
Regiment- shocking how you didn't win for best dressed, LOVED your outfits! so nice! loved the colors, i cant believe just because of 2 judges, you guys didn't win. wow.

Had there been more modern judges im sure that ABC would have placed higher. Even ABC told me on stage they knew it was going to be a traditional team that won. Everyone knew It was going to be either BABC or VDW. BABC had it. Everyone did so great that at the end even I was anxious to see who the judges picked because in my mind I had no clue. Yes, ABC had the most crowd support from beginning to end as far as I could tell, but the judges chose a traditional team and that's that. The judges knew what they were doing, and we all know that guys. My opinion along with everyone elses is bias of course, and I wasnt able to watch all the performances sadly.
But since everyone is only talking about 1st and 3rd...
Good Job CAPITAL. You guys did a great job especially going from your last set to a brand new traditional one. I was told weeks before the show from people who watched your practice that you guys had a sick ass routine ready, and you guys didn't disappoint. I recorded your video for you and I think Sunny and Ricky have seen it. Idk if the rest of you have but if you want to watch the one I have PM me or ask ricky i think he might still have my login info Again congratulations on 2nd place

had it been about just modern vs. traditional...i'm sure vdw would have def. placed over capital...they're set was a lot cleaner and on point without obvious mistakes. You can't say that it was just a traditional judging because then abc might have not even placed because their set was not so traditional. They placed because they deserved it =). Its hard for any one of us to sit here and say what kind of judging it was..only the judges themselves know what was going through their heads and what they were looking for. Seeing the placings of this comp..its hard to say whether the judges were leaning more towards one side than the other.
