Also was not feeling the panga drop, but definitely did think mix 2 was creative. Maybe without the intro + an extension of the idea it would have been pulled off better.

DJ 1 emphasized the awesomeness of the original. I didn't notice anything wrong with the sarangi, but the "it's about that time" bit was definitely not mixed in well at all, but overall got me pumped

I kept waiting for the beat to drop on the DJ 2's mix, and when it did, there was just like 5 seconds of the hard hitting segment of the mix, but buildup did have hype, was just dragged out.

G, I'm with Kush that I thought the Sarangi was fine pitch-wise in DJ 1's sample. Maybe the keys are harmonically adjacent instead of perfectly matched? But it sounded fine for me

I didn't like the chipmunk effect, but I generally hate the chipmunk effect especially on a gifted vocalist like Kaka. There has to be a very specific reason for chipmunking him (like in a team mix to emphasize the speed of the segment). But w/e it was a nice mix, I'd listen to it again, maybe wished there was a bit more mixing like doubling the buildup vocals with a pan to just break the monotony of the mix. Dushmani is a perfect club song, and could have done a bit more to highlight that. Vision for this mix was good though, definitely a fan



DJ 2:
Not sure I understand what was so creative about DJ 2? Yes it's not just an instrumental-layered-on-the original mix, but I kept waiting for something to happen and nothing ever really did. I actually like the panga sample, and I liked the second build up into the dushmani chorus because it just keeps the listener engaged by breaking expectations and forcing you to pay attention.

But this mix lost me at 0:50 when the vocals fade out in the buildup. Couldn't tell if sloppy work or purposefully mixed. That's an issue, it should all sound purposeful! So I think I might like this mix as a full sample with some polish

For me, came down to how much the investment in the intro led to a payoff in the DJ 2's mix. I don't think the payoff was worth it. So DJ 1's chipmunky, but solid, sample wins out. Good job to both though, excited to see more mixes from these two

It mainly bothered me when the vocal began to drop, it was like 3 keys higher than the sarangi. With just the beat behind it, it sounds really good.
