This challenge is between 11. sK vs. 10. DJ Concept. The challenge was to mix a Halloween song. The original song is "Tiptoe through the Tulips," from the movie Insidious.

no. It was simply to remix the track in a creative way, bhangra is just one way to approach

Both DJ's ripped it, it was a really hard choice. I vote DJ 1 because he incorporated the assigned song a little bit better.

Feedback:


DJ 1 - Damn, not only did you use the Insidious theme, but you also pulled in the Halloween theme. haha, crazy good job sir. I think you would have won in my books even if you were up against the DJ's that did the Halloween theme, lol. The voice clip from 0:20-0:26 was hilarious and fit so well after the Insidious creepy "singing" part. The transition with the bass was nicely done as well. After the bass part, from 0:41 to the end of your mix, I wish you would have thrown in something more unique/creative because it started to sound repetitive (especially with the Halloween theme song constantly playing in the back). I did like that you brought back the Insidious singing part from 0:45-0:58. Great job overall.


DJ 2 - Really enjoy your intro, especially the "wind up" part from 0:11-0:14. The horror sound effect used from 0:16-0:17. I liked that you used the hawaiian island type of sound type of sound (sorry, don't know what else to call it) to create your mix. It was part of the original song, so kept the Insidious theme going throughout your mix. I loved that you brought in that English song because it fit so well. I wish you would have done something a little different after the drums hit at 0:44 because by that time, hearing the same tune in the background got to be too repetitive for my taste. I did like your outro a little more than DJ 1.




It's honestly so difficult to compare both of these mixes because they are so radically different. I'm sure either of them could get the win this week and it wouldn't be hard to see justify why. My vote is simply a matter of taste because I could hear more of the original theme in DJ 1's mix and felt it more hyped. Both DJ's did a fantastic job overall. I hope the both of you keep up the creativity combined with great execution.
