I like this idea too. IMHO, it's a much bigger challenge taking a crap song (or multiple crap songs) & making them sound halfway decent, then to just take a bunch of good tracks & put them together.

Definitely would like to see this type of challenge for the future Lilly!

i say next round don't go completely old school but have a round where its just songs from say 2-4 years ago?? and yes please try for them not to be songs that have been mixed the **** outta.

lol good luck with that, any song "selected" for these contests is gonna be limited to songs popular within the bhangra community and all these songs have been raped 50 times over for mixes. kinda ruins the fun because you've already heard these songs remixed so many times. find some songs that havent been remixed before, there are alot of vague songs out there that have alot of potential. i doubt thats ever gonna happen tho, if i had the skills to remix stuff n make it sound amazing id find the most random songs n give em some much deserved attention. but sadly i dont have those skills, i'm just gonna get back to workin on makin my electric/amplified tumbi, mwahahahahaha.

lol i dont listen 2 mixes that much at all, theyre good for dancing but you dont really enjoy the songs fully, id rather listen to the original non mixed songs, hope you're enjoying the sad song thread i got goin on btf theres sum nastyyyyyy sad slow songs in there. just got the piezo transducer yesterday so i'm thinkin ill jack it up to the guitar amp i got and figure out where to place it on the tumbi n see how it sounds, mite make a vid. after that im thinkin bout designing the most mechanically advanced/easy to play tumbi ever made.

pick harder tracks like 6 beat long verses instead of 4.. everyone's going to trip out cuz their instrumentals won't fit right off the bat.. thus forcing them to be creative and perhaps even make/customize the beat!


I say do the kaka vocal 'nach ke dikha', remixing a track that is already fully produced isn't really worth it and it doesn't really show who has skill and who doesn't since 2 hours of trial and error can get any dj the best possible mix as long as he finds the right instrumental however using a fresh acapella would be a good test for Dj's since they have to start at the basics.. the instruments, then move to the melody then move to the beat.. dare I say it... on their own!

but since it's extremely hard pairing instruments with songs you guys can use my version of the vocal.. I played with the vocal like a month ago and I added a lot of instruments but the mix never went through so take my vocal + dhol added and go crazy
