What's the longest you would commute to go to see a Bhangra competition?

During my first year on the UVA Bhangra team, we applied to and performed at IPFF in Surrey, just because we wanted to see Rooh Punjab Dee perform. It was a good 12+ hour journey with all of the layovers.

Nishani drove over 20 hours one way from Houston, TX to Ann Arbor, Michigan. Pretty fun trip though.

To perform, I would have commuted anywhere.

But to just watch a show, 3-4 hours. But the show would have to be in an area where there is a lot of stuff to do that Friday night, Saturday morning, very late Saturday night/Sunday morning, and Sunday afternoon. I'd need to turn this into a weekend getaway. If there's nothing to do during that down time, then I'm not going to commute.

Other factors:
1) Who's performing?
2) How cheap are hotels?
3) Do I know anyone performing?
etc etc etc

How about 3000+ miles. NorCal to NYC...BAB 2010...Shoutout to my Guardian Brethren, and Campy, JD, Roohi, First Class Bhangra, and Jaggi.

Went from Ann Arbor to Pittsburgh to see Bhangra in the Burgh 6. Was well worth it! Afterparty was at a sick venue.
