Which Bhangra artist should I go for to perform at my wedding?

Hi everyone,

Just joined this forum as I'm having problems deciding which Bhangra Artist to go with for my wedding. The choice is between Sahara and H Dhami. The only reason I've not instantly gone for H Dhami is because I'm not sure how he would be with the audience. I've been to weddings where Sahara have performed and the crowd go wild. Would this be the case with H Dhami?

What I am after is when the performer walks onto the stage the crowd get up and want to dance.

Who should I go with? Please help :-[

Regards,
Billy

We had H-Dhami perform for a dance competition a couple of years ago and he was a phenomenal live performer. He not only sang his own songs, but classic punjabi songs as well. He definitely knows how to play to a large crowd.

Billy - im assuming your based in the UK??

If they are your two choices - I would probably suggest H Dhami. No disrespect to any Sahara fans out there - but I think most people would be quite confused seeing Sahara on stage - in fact I didnt even know they were still singing!! I have seen them live on a few occasions - but that was back in 2002-2004 - almost 8 years ago now!!

Have you thought of any of the Entourage guys - Geeta zaildar/angrej ali - if your looking for live - they are pretty awesome, and lots of people recognise them and also their songs.

The tru skool guys can bring JK/gurbhej brar/kulwinder johal to the forefront - also good live - their songs are more traditional/folk but will be recognised by most people out there!

hope that helps.

H-Dhami,

The ladies all love him and he's got a good vibe. It really depends on your crowd though. If your crowd is more hip and composed of the younger generation that I'd go with H-Dhami.

As for the earlier post... Geeta zaildar... I've seen him a couple of times and this guy just lip synchs his tracks. Don't get me wrong though, He has awesome songs that everyone knows but as a live artist for a wedding situation, cause I've seen him at weddings a couple of times, he's not that great.

if you want people going HEERA ! HEERA ! HEERA ! and little girls going through puberty dancing then go for h dhami...no offense but he`s only famous because of his dad who is also a mediocre singer to be honest

if you wanna gamble go for sahara, have not seen him perform ever to be honest

and like someone mentioned above id recommend the entourage roadshow with aman hayer, or tru skools roadshow, they`ll get everybody from drunk uncs, to little kids who can barely walk dancing, also dcs is another good roadshow

Thanks for your comments everyone!

I went for H Dhami in the end :p

Now I just need a list of all of his upbeat lively songs to get everyone dancing!
