1. corrupt politicians - badals, manns, kairons and the like.
2. corrupt police force who make deals to get drugs and booze to farmers
3. overfarming has screwed up vast tracts of lands
4. pollution from industry has screwed up lots of canals and waters.
5. people dont like helping each other out as much as they used to.

Harvest of Grief-trailor for a docu on Punjab

theres alot of things wrong with punjab. it's one sort of corruption or another, farmers are killing themselves because they can't pay off their debts, police force is getting fat off their bribe money, parents are lazy because their servants do all the work and they sit around watching tv all day, kids go out and do whatever the fuck they want. kanat aundi dekh ke, ki banio ah punjab da. punjabs been raped over and over again, raped by the mughals, raped by the british, raped by jinnah-gandhi, raped by the indian government repeatedly since independence. the thing is you can't place all the blame on outside forces, ena kush shad ke gaye guru saday layi, fir bini loki akha khol de. lol i can't help laughin at the hypocrisy of it all though no matter where you go punjabis are in love with their alcohol, whether they're sikh, muslim, or hindu they all drink, don't they ever stop and wonder wtf the point of it is and realize that u don't get anythin from it?

That makes me so sad and does not surprise me at all! Don't believe that 73% of youth is doing drugs that may include 1(and only) time users, alcohol, which if included will make all western population a drug user. Punjab is just a distribution point and sure enough there will be people doing drugs(recreational as they call it). However if they are 20% higher that still makes it &*^%in a high percent. I am sure the researchers have some credibility to their work. Strong state of Five Rivers? Powerful state of Five Rivers? Now we have a sixth river, DRUG river. Gurudware's are becoming business to make money. Big controversy going on of killing anyone who is popular leader preaching on sikhism. This akali dal, congress, anyone any fucking politics in Punjab, haven't done a fucking thing about drugs. I hope they play this movie to every school, every village, everywhere so youth could be enlightened. Hopefully people will identify their duty as a proud Punjabi and bring us out of this mess.Rangla Punjab is no more full of colors, Rangla Punjab is full of drugs. I am going to post this video everywhere and will be posting it in future too. Good work. If I can change someone thinking by posting this, I will feel pride of doing my little duty as proud Sikh. WaheGuru pala karr Punjab Daah.

This was shocking to see. I'm most surprised by how the drugs are able to enter into the country so easily. Good find.

Excellent video, thanks for the share.

Most Punjabis are financially impoverished, and that being the case, they are unable to afford adequate housing, health care, education, food, etc.

Farmers need to be more educated in smart farming and harvesting techniques in the 21st century and be provided with more resources to help them build up their assets. They need more subsidized seeds and fertilizers, learn better ways to till soil and maintain the nutrients of their land and have platforms to sell their harvests at profitable prices. This can happen through strong governmental support where they protect the agricultural industry and help it grow. But we all know the corruption barriers that prevent this.

Punjabis in the West are the only ones left who can save Punjab.
It really isn't that much different here either man....

I mean look at the amount of fights that happen in the Gurdwara... I saw a video sometime ago about fights at Brampton GW... wtf!!! Here locally in Seattle there have been multiple times where people have met and fought at local gurdwaras.... BC Canada is drug central to all the Indians.... SOOO Many fucking drug dealers all over....... penchod sale sare....

This is all happening on land where nothing but Warriors have always been born..... Kabaddi players... blue collared workers... Even in our names.... Being SINGH.... a LION..... We go from having Shaheeds like Bhagat Singh to the damn Amli next door dying of crack...

However we cant just blame the population.... Government should take majority of the blame as they are allowing all of this without proper education and awareness surrounding the effects of these drugs.. At least in the Western world we are taught all this..... Which makes me question if the government truly wants to help Punjab and its youth... They have been able to avoid social movements pretty well.... an easy way to do that is allow drugs to roam around freely and make access to them easily......
