I'm surprised no one started talk on this yet...

Roddick shoulda won the 2nd set. not doing so gave fed the confidence he needed. sure the match was close the whole way except for the 4th set, roddick won to many games on feds serve in the set and didn't save one for the never ending tie break. I didn't catch the ENTIRE match, but it seemed that Roddick blew a bunch of chances to win points, or make feds run and work for points. I feel like roddick didn't hit the ball away from feds instead letting him walk to his shot rather than run. more time for feds = tougher shot for you. Either way, it was very fun to watch, and congrats to feds on winning the most majors.

I watched all but the last 2 games in the final set (i thought itd go longer and i ran out for a bit haha), and i have to say that a-rod deserves a lot of credit. The commentators were fellating Federer the entire game, and a-rod was laying down nasty serves in the 5th set. However, damn did he BLOW it, he was up 6-2 on a tiebreak to win set #2 and dropped 4 straight and Federer was able to even it 1-1! That was a-rod's chance of going up in sets 2-0, i couldn't believe it. Watching Federer's drop shots is freaking amazing, he can put that ball anywhere near the net and its impossible to get. He's got amazing D at the net because he can play the craziest angles, and he hit some balls that no one was expecting him to hit. Kinda agree with you siddyp about how a-rod didnt make federer work, but sometimes it seems like he was just doing that to set up a power shot to win the point. Props to Fed for winning, and props to a-rod for playing an amazing game against someone he's lost to a crapload of times. Props to nbc for showing pete sampras about 500 times

tiebreak in the 2nd set was turning point, if he hadnt had lost those 4 set points in a row, things wouldve been so different. but thats sports..there are no what ifs, only what you do with the chances you get.

congrats to federer on his 15th, and to roddick for putting up a hell of a fight, that no one even really gave him a chance of winning

lollll +1

gotta hand it to roddick, played easily the best match of tennis he has in his career. too many times hes playing a solid match then hits a few miss hits and his head gets to him and ends up losing. against fed he kept his cool and played more consistent than ever. if he won that 2nd set, he wouldve taken the title. props to fed...for, just being amazing i guess. his placement is insane and defense is just impeccable. hopefully they duke it out later at diff series (unless nadal gets in teh way like usual) cause that was a fantastic display of tennis to watch
