WORLD BHANGRA CHAMPIONSHIP !!

On the pattern of 'World Kabaddi Championship' being conducted by the Punjab Government, these days, I am once again going to contact the Chief Minister / Dy. Chief Minister of Punjab, on behalf of you all, to organise the 'World Bhangra Championship' here in Punjab in the year 2013 enabling it a major event in the field of Culture.

You are, therefore, requested to send me your inputs for the same, please.

im not even on a bhangra team...but yeah tell the corrupt indian government to hurry up and make the airport, duty free in amritsar sucks big time and those stupid delays, and dehli is too long of a drive.

If they can cover the cost all together. regardless where the plane lands...i am sure some live teams would love an all expense paid trip to India. visit family and what not.

Yup, as Jasraj stated - 3 day event. I believe it was held in 2008 though. Rooh Punjab Dee took 1st. That was sick performance.

Wish it was easier for other teams across the world to come out so that it truly would be a "worldwide competition."

Weren't the Canada teams the only non-Punjab-based teams? I think there may have been an Australian team but thats about it. What was far more interesting was all of the other folk dance teams that came from around Punjab and that team from Pakistan doing luddi, jhumar, dandaas etc..

Avtar I'm curious to hear your thoughts on why tax money should be spent on this when the government is struggling to finance some basic public services. Why not fundraise yourself?
