So having a pair of girls teams that may be better than WSA/ESA isn't worth it because as of now it seems they'll also fall far short of the championship belt but have little hype and room for rivalry.
Again if that the case that why make it imperative to include a girls team at all? Everyone's going dumb stupid about the old days...no one wants to win anymore etc and then, to you, it seems no current all girls squad has what it takes to win it all. Btw, I wouldn't sell TAG so short, nor would I count a team like BCBG (gaining crazy momentum) out from potential/would be candidates to take home the belt. As far as rivalries go...really you guys really think this will be a 'rivalry? I don't see these 2 teams having/building animosity towards one another unless you think 'polite/friendly' rivalries can exist, at which case it's bs anyway. Again the whole 'perfect matchup' is speculation based on the two teams name and how their members were selected. In other words it's an ok matchup (sub par at best)..definitely not a perfect one and certainly not one that will spark a true rivalry. Also I'd like to reemphasize the fact that you stated, iyo, no girls team is expected to win wbbc. Again if that's the case then whyyyy? Why have a girls team at all?
Yes, I think TAG is the one team that has consistently threatened to be the best team of the night and if love to see them in the lineup. I think WBBC is the chance to do something different. It's not just about placings, it offers more which is why I think this rivalry fits. I don't think this is the best matchup ever and certainly won't be the best one announced but I do think it's better than TAG vs BCBG or any other such matchup.

Now we can debate whether there should be an inclusion of a girls team at all to which I will say that I enjoyed the diversity of the show last year and, again, this is unique. I want to see the teams taking all kinds of shots at each other and tripping their coasts. As I said in a different thread, I think rivalries based on animosity are dumb and get pretty annoying after a while - proving you're better to a rival you respect is much more interesting.

to be brutally honest, no all-girls matchup was going to excite me. it's like the WNBA. this matchup is AT LEAST great on paper...

that said, i hope to be proven wrong.

WSA at Bruin was one of the best performances of the year.

How do you justify that?
Just my personal opinion going off of the originality in the choreo and the quality of the dancing. Although there was some sloppiness, I think the rivalry aspect of WBBC will drive teams to put in a little extra effort when preparing for this comp, kind of like what we've seen for Elite in the past. Besides that, there just haven't been that many strong performances this year, so this might not be as big a complement as it sounds.

Didn't say it was the best bro, I said one of. BK, FAUJ, AEG, CAL sets were head and shoulders above everybody else's this year, but I'd say WSA's was right in that next tier.

Getting back to WBBC, one suggestion I have is that if you guys are going to be announcing the match ups one at a time it might be better to follow a schedule.
