Week 1: Group B (VOTING CLOSED)

I vote DJ 1 & 3 DJ 1: Love it! Love the layered percussion and that bassline was filthy. maybe could have mixed it up more for the final drop but awesome overall DJ 2: I appreciate the ambition but didn't pull off the execution DJ 3: Pretty solid ideas overall - 808s could be cleaned up but the...

Week 2 Matchup 1: DJ Vig vs. Akash Bansal

DJ 1's mix sounded kinda messy and compressed, and could've used some tighter leveling to balance it out some more. Vocals also could've been a bit cleaner as well. DJ 2 was definitely cleaner and that brought out the drop at the end a bit more, though I wasn't huge on the dum dum sample -...

Week 2 Matchup 9: DJ MOMO vs. ChaMak

I like the ideas and pace of DJ 2's mix, though as everyone has said that piano isn't blended well into the rest of the mix and is distracting. Gotta go with DJ 1 for a solid mix with a nice slow drop.

Week 2 Matchup 2: kRRn Mixes vs. Paaji

This is tough - on one hand you have a really unconventional, yet creative mix with DJ 2 that may not be conducive to a sapp segment. On the other hand you have a more straightforward, fast/hype sapp segment that's executed well. I agree with @SuaveSahib in that the 808's could've been more...

Week 2 Matchup 11: DJ Chet vs. Mogul

DJ 2 gets this mostly b/c I don't think there was a whole lot going in DJ 1's mix that really added much to the song or transformed it. I dug DJ 2's bassline - gave it a nice groove. Was a nice and transparent mix which I appreciated and wasn't overly complicated.

Week 2 Matchup 3: DoubleA vs. Amundeep

DJ 1 coming with that straight up menacing horn sample. Damn, that shit was grimy throughout. Loved the creativity and build up from that slow, methodical (and kinda scary lol) intro into a more conventional fast bhangra seg. Adding the strings and synths definitely added to the vibe as well -...

    Northwestern Bhangra 2017-2018 Season

I watched ya'll at Crossroads and it truly blew me away. The gimmicks and set pieces were dope and well spaced throughout, and that intro concept was fiiiirreeeee (esp. flipping the script with the girls taking the hype, powerful seg and the guys rocking the jhummar beats). Best of luck this...

    Help with some sound effects

Hey dude, welcome to BTF! For 2, I'm not entirely sure what it originates from (as I don't speak punjabi) but it's likely clipped from a boli before a performance or from a speech of some sort. Diving into punjabi youtube or asking a punjabi friend may yield more answers. If you're referring...

Week 1 Matchup 1: hrsfhm vs. DJ Vig

I can't vote b/c i don't have enough posts lol but i'll throw in some quick thoughts: The simplicity of the overlap pre-drop really works in DJ 1's favor - the bassline bounces nicely with the song and it meshes nicely. the buildup and drop could've used some more work though - there's not a...

Hey BTF, I'm proud to present Princeton Bhangra's mix for the spring - this was my first full competitive mix and I had a blast creating it for our team!
