some food for thought...

"Shun meat, says UN climate chief"

"People should consider eating less meat as a way of combating global warming, says the UN's top climate scientist."

i would like to know more about how cutting down on meat would affect the environment...
like if we all went veggie, would that actually prevent the cutting down of the rainforest and stuff? cause the demands of the population would just merely shift from meat to vegetables. Just as an off thought though, we have so much land here, that we just just to like...plant grass. i would presume, if we seriously internally cultivated our own food...that would cut down transportation costs, and use up land wisely.
