wowww u guys definetly hate this song.....b/c i mean u gotta give it up to skilly and takin the risk...im sure when he made this song he kne he was gonna get alot of criticism for it...but he did take the risk (and at least it does keep us in check w/wat we do expect out of our culture)

-so just wonderin wat bout other south asian artists-shud they limit the topics they talk about...and to wat point...isnt it better to kno that hey these are the topics that people talk about instead of just tryin to sweep em under a carpet?
-is it inappropriate in general for artists who do sing bout such things and bring in dirty references to do so....

kidd skilly is...interesting. i think this song is supposed to be a joke?
I kind of get why so many people dont like it. its all about the cultural context. i mean come on, this tends to go both ways. there are some things that just get lost/added in translation, and the same material might not be funny in one language if. in this case...i need to listen to the song first hhaha. im waiting for the opportunity to present itself...

lol, you guys are cold. But I have to agree, the song is weak. Lyrics are beyond elementary and the auto tune effect has become so overused/annoying. I don't think the song was a "joke", because this is what he felt was the best representation of his mixtape, as he chose to release this first as a teaser. If that is representation of what is on the rest of the mixtape...ouch.

I dont think South Asian artists should have to limit themselves to any one topic. But at the same time, if you are presenting yourself as a representation of Punjabi culture, telling a girl to choop your mitthay ganne is not exactly a wise thing to do. I wish South Asian artists would stop relying on the "Indian rapper" mentality and just be a rapper. Plain and simple. I think a lot of times its just a gimmick to attract a particular audience, because they lack the talent to make it in the mainstream rap genre. Not saying that is the case with Kidd SKilly, but just in general. I have heard tracks where he was very lyrical and had some solid music, but a song like this just really ruins his rep.

Mariam does it make that much of a difference? Thats why I put "..." in there, to show that there were verses that were cut out. I hate to break down a song like this, cuz its a wack song, but he's straight up jacking "Lollipop" and then saying he's got haters. Does anyone else see the delicious irony in that? Im not sure if he's referring to his wang as a "mitthe ganne" but he's telling everyone to S his D the entire time. I dont remember the exact lyrics but he had a few lines in punjabi about being crazy about a girl, so i was like hm ok this sounds nice, and then all of a sudden he goes "nah F@!@ that...etc" Ok im done talking about this song, i just cant stand it when these songs only reflect the "rapper's" inner confusion of whether he's a rapper or a singer or whatever
