I know Anil personally, and I can assure you he's not throwing comps for his personal profit or anything. Give him a break, I know for 100% damn sure he's going to repay any money he owes. Quite frankly he's learning still, and he's gona make mistakes. Criticize him all you want, but if you were in his shoes you wouldn't appreciate getting shit on...Im sure you all will get ur money back, but until then coming on btf and accusing him of that is stupid as hell.

Justin, the competition was literally a year ago. He hasnt reimbursed me my costs and, to my knowledge, hasn't paid any teams. Maybe he didnt sell all 800 seats as planned, but he had some revenue. And none of his costs to us have been paid. Further, he doesn't respond to e-mails to his multiple addresses, doesn't respond to phone calls or texts. What exactly do you think we should do, do you think my frustration isn't warranted? If you know him personally, please have a conversation with him. I guarantee you he will say the same BS he told me "hey man i lost my job, am moving to houston, i have no money right now... i'll get you back in a month or two". EVERY MONTH he said this. I can show you the text messages. If you know him personally, please get my $212, because I trust you to deliver the money to me, but not Anil Prasad.

Why don't u guys do something about it? Legal actions have been brought up so many times in this post so go for it. If he keeps defriending u guys on facebook then you clearly know that he doesn't want to give the money back. If he doesn't want to give it back, then TAKE IT BACK.

The reason why I initially scoffed at born2bjatt's initial suggestions of 1) beating him up and b) calling the cops on him and taking him to court is because they're ridiculous ideas. Unfortunately, you really won't succeed taking the legal action route because there was no contract stating that the competition is required to pay competition prizes in a timely manner. In fact, most registration packets have the term that the competition is allowed to change any part of the "contract" of the team competing at their competition (aka the "rules" of the competition) at any point. Teams all sign the registration packet and thus competitions hold all the power. And we all know that (i*R^2) corrupts absolutely.

After we competed at Bhangra Nation, Youtube took down our performance stating that Bhangra Nation had rights to it. However, nowhere in their registration forms did they state that they would be taking ownership and preventing the showcasing of videos at online sites. They did have the above stated point and I'm assuming that if legal action was pursued to upload our video on Youtube, they would have claimed that point allowed them to do whatever they please. Their registration packet, however, did explicitly include a point that stated that talking smack/criticizing the competition on an online forum could result in forfeit of prize. Needless to say, I did not write a review for Bhangra Nation.

The only recourse now is simply peer pressure and attempts at humiliation - and alas, that will fail eventually. He has a family and kids - what college students and bhangra people say to him and say about him will barely phase him if his priorities are to make ends meet for his family. I'm not defending him in any way, I'm simply pointing out the futility in what we're trying to accomplish.

thank you kinnell. i honestly cant believe this is still causing so much of a ruckus. yes, its a horribly crappy situation for all people involved, not trying to deny that. however, the monetary loses seem to be just that now, loses. if i was a grown man with a family and kids trying to restart my career, the bhangra community at large would be my ABSOLUTELY LAST priority, however wrong and unethical his actions may be. legal action will clearly never work, the only thing ppl can take out of this now is that everyone (i hope) had a good time at the competition. i think its time to drop this.

Saleem you said I must of made some money on that show. My friend when you have more performers than audience..Believe me when I say the money made could not even make up for 50% of what the hall costs...and advertising, etc...

Losing my job was a huge setback..but since January alot more has happened. My house was foreclosed. Moved to Houston to start all over and in the process now im in the middle of a divorce and a child custody battle. Every time I think that I can get back on my feet im back down and farther down. So I started to run away from alot of it because I cant deal with it. But its only gotten worse.

I dont expect anyone to understand this. And quite frankly no one you need to. You only need to know when your getting paid. And I get that. I dont have a time table on this. Im sorry. Right my biggest priority is my divorce and my kids. And then to rebuild my life ....Starting over is tough enough...but having to deal with everything that is going on well I cant even explain my mindset to you on that..

But honestly how many times can I say Im going to pay you without giving you a reasonable timeframe. I cant. And I dont expect anyone to accept that answer either..I wouldnt.
