We could nationalize it and have it a lot of major cities around the country where there is a lot of interest and team participation. Have regional centers where kids are taught by teams/bhangra addicts for a week or so and have it be under a national curriculum per say. Then we could have at the end of the week subscription to a yearly magazine or something and keep in touch. There could be workshops and the like over the course of the year as well as the formation of youth teams from these camps. Could really take off....

I dunno the idea to me sounds localized like hmm per se "AN ACADEMY" for this type of a program to exist funding is required not only for the place to practice but to bring down special teachers and instructors? Just a thought.

Rohit im sorry but im just saying we dont all have access to academies. This is strictly a one week to two week thing. People could use money to sign up...that could take care of some of it. im just throwing out ideas.

The idea is really promising and provided that logistical details are sound, it could be a great event. Having grown up have gone to VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) camp which is essentially a YMCA camp with waking up at 6 AM to do yoga, getting fed Indian food, learning Mahabharat stories and mingling with other kids for a week, I think the Bhangra camp can work out provided it is open to everyone and does not become a Punjabi heritage camp.

Learning about Punjabi culture and how it affected bhangra is one thing. Having a camp being run in the language of Punjabi would deter a lot of people from coming. I'm providing my thoughts here. What would be the age limit for the camp? 6-60? or more limited to Kids?

And goddamn, we need it in America, not Canada! Canada is already baller enough in bhangra...
