I bet I am the only one but...
I normally buy competition DVDs.
when I went to buy VIBC it was not available after contacting the person in charge he said it will not be ready til DEC..... WHY IS THAT??
I have always purchased Boston Bhangra & Fusion and had no trouble
but no other competition sells them
UNLESS I am looking wrong...so if you know please let me know

O, I know there is youtube but I like purchasing DVDs; better sounds and quality =)

Yeah I can definetely see what you mean concerning the quality of the videos. The videos of Nachdi Jawani and KJ at VIBC were pretty sick but the quality of the videos were really bad. I would love to see better versions of them though I'm usually too cheap to spend $20 on a DVD lol. I really do want to get the Boston Bhangra '07 DVD when I actually have the money though.

I am not sure how other competitions run. but for Boston Bhangra, we only have the holdup becuase the company making it is taking time and then we have to review it and make edits..We have the competition in Nov and shoot to get the DVDs out by Dec. This year it was a little later becuase there were a lot of bad camera angles put in and the over all quality of the DVD lacked(for example the intro menu)..So i am guessing other competitions might experience the same type of problems. Maybe its not VIBC but the place where they are getting them made are taking to long.

I don't see why a competition would hold back on DVDs unless it is out of their hands.

Somi i agree watching a team on DVD you see so much stuff that you would have missed on Youtube

Is it just VIBC and Boston that release DVD's of the competitions? Anybody know which other comps do the same thing... I'd love to get my hands on authentic performances on DVD and just chill out and watch them during the upcoming Christmas break :)

Plus my eyes hurt from staring at my screen watching youtube videos nowadays lol :-[

Burgh usually has multiple angles, so there's a lot of editing involved with combining all of them over a 3 hourish show. Then there's rendering, finalizing, approving, etc.

Plus our entire comp is run by students, so these guys usually have lots of events going on week to week so it's not easy to get done quickly.

+1. Im always debating if buying the dvd is even worth it. If Harjot is the one filming it in HD, no doubt will I get the dvd/bd!! Having elite 8 on bd??!! That would be crazy!! GTV is the best. Period.

if anyone has a dvd let me know id like to get a copy somehow

Thank You to everyone who has shown great support in this thread for GTV. Somia to answer your question, Bulldog Bhangra has given me full rights and authority to author their shows for distribution, Thank You Dippy =)

This first one I am working on is this years show, in which your team also performed :) This being my first Blu-Ray, I need to make sure I make it as perfect as can be. Nonetheless, I hope to have it complete in the coming weeks, with a goal to have it done by years end.

While we are on the subject, what is the format most people prefer? HD Bluray or Regular DVD?

Unfortunately, Till date, I have not received authorization to release dvd's for any other shows :-\

I would choose bluray over anything! That's if it's out...but also, if it's in DVD form, i can also rip it to my hard drive for future usage and stuff. Either way, i'd buy it.
