1) no one cares, calm down. We didn't even know this comp was . People are just discussing without even seeing videos
2) no one is attacking your team, they're pointing out that just using a guitar is not necessary in their view (Manjot is a traditional stalwart). In any case, using a guitar is NOT original anyway, so it's not a matter of 'oh Pindu didn't something you didn't expect'. It's just traditional vs. modern, which is a long tired topic

ok guys theres no point of fighting.. we all know that last year bhangra flames didn't do a great job, and we were all expecting for bhangra flames to be better this year. but knowing the fact that fights broke out AGAIN... we just know the people that put down the bhangra flames competiton dont really know how to maintain a competition and keep it stablized.competitions aren't just for winning, usually should be for fun and next thing you know theres fights breaking out. i dont understand why ppl cant get that one thing though their head. i guess pindu had their own idea and wanted to bring something new in the bhangra sence? thats their choice...i think bhangra should be takin seriously. we need to show our next generation what bhangras about and ppl are just mixing it with hip hop in it and ruining the whole sence, kinda hurts, we dont need to see booty shaking in bhangra do we? but last year the jugdes didn't know ANYTHING bout bhangra, and you can trust me about that. this year i heard most of the jugdes were the same... not knowing anything about bhangra. usless there was couple more adding in the pannle that actually knew something. i knew that there was obviously gonna be a fight this year again. and a team from b.c. wanted to see all of the teams i.d, i think thats stupid, i understand if the jugdes look at the i.d. but why would a team need to see it. they have no right to. i dont know if this year the compi was fair. mandhir ( main bhangra flames guy) just took it over board. and who ever said girls can't dance needs to stfu, atleast give ppl chances. yeah teams dropped out last minute, why would we wanna embaress our selfs by going to a low competition, where the jugdes know nothing about judging and bhangra and especially where the one judge made rude and ignorant comments to the teams and their members.. gotta look at those kinds of things before even going to a competition like that. better off dropping out than being humiliated.
from me, congrats to all of the teams that went and performed and congrats to the teams that won.

Just to be clear that judge nvr said girls should'nt do bhangra he just said there is new category evolving ( bhangra/giddah). n girls doing bhangra in a bhangra category should not put giddah steps.. n they got docked for putting giddah steps in their routine.

The vaaja was introduced to India by British in the colonial period. I'll be a lot of people didn't like hearing kirtan on it at that time. Good luck going to gurudwara now and telling them to throw them out.
This is why 'traditionality' is partly imagined.

who else was in this competition...i don't know that many competitions that would not post a flier or advertisement on BTF so that's probably why no one heard of this competition...also Bhangra1111 did you make a screen name just so you could discuss about teams getting robbed at bhangra flames??? b/c your only 5 posts have been on this thread (that's POL sheet man)!!

Ok, well I'm glad to hear that because our entire team has nothing but respect for you guys. We were actually a little disappointed that we weren't going to get a chance to watch you guys perform yesterday.

As far as the guitar being a gimmick, I have to disagree. We incorporated the guitar because we feel it is an entertaining aspect for the audience. Our primary goal when competing is not to win, but to entertain the audience and earn respect from both the audience and other teams. The only reason I got a little defensive is because you called out the guitar directly. I apologize if you felt like I was attacking you.

OK if this was a Bhangra compti. and they look at it traditionally.. then isn't Giddha traditional? and if its a step or two its not killing the bhangra is it? or is the guitar and the fuckn soulja boy songs everyone did when it 1st came out killing it.. cant u recall? ??? or should i post a video to remind you guys!must i also say giddha is something that is apart of our Punjabi heritage and is seen as being traditional NOT R&B AND HIPPPIED HOP . just cause guys cant do Giddha(not including malwai giddha) doesn't mean aa girls bhangra team cant go and do it...must i also comment..iif there are going to be bhangra compettttition they should focus on the rooots of Punjab and how bhangra was 1st originated and how it actually should be performed not like modern soulja boy and beyonce dance.
