Back to Idols: Congratulations to all the competing teams and twice for the placing teams. Show went pretty smoothly; when we got out, we were like shit can we still hit a liquor store and then we were shocked to see 9:30pm on our watches lol.

Hi! On behalf of Jawani Bhangra I'd like to thank the organizers of Bhangra Idols for an amazing weekend! The competition was running EARLY beforehand, ontime during the show and the afterparty. A few things that we as a team really liked about the competition:
1. The judges were introduced to the team captains in advance of the competition. They were all experienced past dancers who are not currently competing on any teams. Good mix of older, younger, traditional and modern. There was a meeting where all team captains had a round table discussion with the judges and had the opportunity to ask questions if any, and clarify items in the very thorough registration package.
2. Immediately after our tech time we were handed a DVD recording of our tech time run throughs. This helps as not all teams have an extra person who can record and the view in the DVD was perfect so you could see formations, facial expressions, everything.
3. Moments after the results were announced (which by the way was 15 minutes after the last competitiors which were us) team captains were handed a binder including all the judging scorecards (with judges names and signatures and notes) and professional quality recordings on DVD (from multiple angles) and a CD of professional quality photos. Jawani Bhangra has competed in many comps and never ever have we received scorecards the minute we left the stage, let alone ones signed by the judges so we saw feedback immediately.
4. Bhangra Idols has a different judge for each part of their judging criteria which helps us because we know nothing was missed. Also it minimalizes the opportunity for judges to be biased.
The teams were great and the afterparty was off the hook! Congrats to all the placing teams and as usual the small boys had the entire crowd on their feet. Hats off to SGPD I caught the last minute of your performance while waiting for my walk in, you guys killed it!
I'd also like to make a special mention to all our family and friends who came out last night because in addition to 3rd place, we won the "Best Spirit Squad" award, totally not possible without your help and support.

since we had no spirit squad. that pumped the shit outta me thanks guys.

Hey
I just wanted to say congratz to all teams, and especially those that received an award last night. You all did an amazing job. I recorded all team performances as well as the awards ceremony from the front, middle, left section of the audience. Sound quality might not be the best cause of all the cheering but the full performance was recorded. If teams would like to have their videos please feel free to PM me with an email address and what team you are from. I will try and have all the videos up on my computer by tomorrow night.
