....usually PANJ, and especially not me, dont come onto BTF and try to explain ourselves however today just seemed like the perfect opportunity ;)

To whom it may concern,
PANJ had 11 of their own dancers on that stage and one other who had REQUESTED to compete with PANJ and travelled all the way from Seattle to make it to practices. One of our OWN dancers, Ronny, got into a car accident and so we replaced him with another PANJ member. If Idols didn't have a minimum age requirement of atleast 16 yrs old, we would of had the whole stage covered with our finest dancers.

Also Idols required 3 stunts and a gimmick and give great importance to entertainment value, thus we had to balance "Bhangra" with entertainment. However, with PANJ we dont limit our imagination and dont put boundaries on what bhangra is and isnt.

Any knowlegable and well experienced bhangra dancer knows how "folk" PANJ is. I apologize if we don't kick our legs 10 feet above our heads and over kill graceful moves and stick out and not dance like a team, and do matrix like choreo and dance to music that we don't understand. But to each his own.

Anyways, congrats to all the teams, this weekend was amazing and can't wait to see SOME of you at future comps :)
Matrix...that would've been a cool idea! Sure wish I thought of that one:)

1st of all ..11 of your own dancers? Jason Hansra guys are TPD dancers from Abbotsford and I think 4 of em danced with you guys..so that leaves 7 of your dancers.

2nd... yeah idols does have a lot of requirements and it is tough to bring out the best in your team when your not used to stunts and gimmicks (same goes for us)

3rd..why you hating on Sunny so much, he's danced on your team before and then call him out about how he dances?? AND to whom it may concern?? you might as well have just wrote TO SUNNY PARMAR ..now Sunnys gna come back on and bash on you guys more lol

4th ...why would you say REQUESTED to dance at idols and then say you could have covered the stage with your finest dancers? are the ones that danced not good enough?

And the only reason i wrote this is cuz im choked you guys wouldnt hook up a saap at idols! ..good thing Ranvir from ABC didnt have a problem with lending us one :)

TPD dancers are also now a part of PANJ

Sunny has only danced with PANJ boys at their very first comp 2 yrs ago and thats it. Only reason to point out the way he dances and his choreo is because he points out how we dance and our choreo. Its a 2 way street.

the dancers that danced at idols did an amazing job, no regrets. some of our dancers under 16 have amazing talent and it just sucks that they had to sit in the audience and watch and not share the stage.

and finally Jason, when you asked for a saap, you wanted one w/out the phumans on it, so i walked around with you trying to remove the phumans. Guriqbal cut his foot, so I was asked to run upstairs and give him a band aid and also to ask hk before i give you a saap. by the time i got the phumans completely off the saap, i came back downstairs, i went into the pcba dress room and no one was there that i knew and i went into the green room and you guys had already left to perform. I even walked past pcbca as they were lined up upstairs to walk into the audience and everyone was holding a saap and i didnt see you, so i went back to my seat to watch you guys perform. It was just a saap

Just thought I'd mention that Sunny pointed out how PANJ danced during his review of the competing teams. HS, it sounds like you're just attacking Sunny in retaliation.

Anyways, just thought I'd drop a line thanking the Bhangra Idols committee for a very well run competition, and the posters for their reviews. Reviews are one of the greatest things on this forum and we appreciate every review we receive, pos and neg. Thanks again.

It's a great disspointment when personal emotions are thrown into bhangra, and suddenly something which isnt a big deal becomes one. I just read the last few posts and everything is getting blown out of porportion. Criticism is fine, but when its mixed with personal emotions it just gets both sides upset, especially when its not criticism about your dancing but instead about who dances for you and how many.

Anyways this conversation should end here and congrats to all the teams, keep the criticism coming.

I dunno if anyone agrees, but after seeing ABC's bulldog video (and also their previous videos), they have good ideas and have the right mindset for a winning routine, but I don't think the dancers are up to par with the routine itself. I feel like the dancers are still missing a lot of bhangra nakhra and style and its sloppy at times. At many points in the dance various people stand out because they arent putting in enough energy. Don't get me wrong, you guys have held your ground and definitely made a name for yourself and I'm proud of the team for doing so, and I wish them all the best. But I think they may want to work on strengthening their individual dancers. It seems from the video many of the dancers are pretty young? With practice I think they'll grow in to it. I've def been a proud promoter of this team since they started out and they've come a long way. Good job this season! Just my two cents.

Cheers.
They definitely all had their energy at Idols...each and every single one of them. I think it was a step up for ABC from Bulldog for sure!

Thanks Sunny Parmar for your feedback, will keep it in mind while training for the next competition!

You're right it is. I thought I gave a pretty fair review. And PANJ is known for borrowing dancers every competition. If you guys have TPD guys on your team now, that's good, congrats. In my post I gave a review about the PERFORMANCE not underlining insult to the way I've been dancing or choreographing. If you don't like it thats your choice. I also said at the end of my review that every dancer deserves credit because everyone rips it up. Stuff does get outta control when you can't take criticism. I mean Bhangra Justice is done, thus we took 5 of our dancers to PCAC, four of which danced at Bulldog, but we are official PCAC members, No BJ anymore. If you guys are that offended that I called you out on borrowing dancers suck it up and recruit some permanent members.

I won't post anything else about PANJ. I gave credit where needed (Gurveen and Deepak did amazing jobs) and delegated you guys where i thought you should've. Good luck at Elite 8. Just another side note, PANJ has never placed without at least 2 borrowed dancers. Doesn't make a team look to good does it?

Parmar OUT!

Congratulations to the teams that competed and double congrats to the teams that placed, you guys were all amazing!

Major props to the Bhangra Idols committee for being so organized and having the professional dvd's and the score sheets right away was beyond amazing. You guys are a fun group of people and can't wait till Idols next year!

Few things I really liked about Idols:

1.) The fact that everyone who competes at this competition is on the same page.. every team is required to have certain elements in their routine. It makes it a little easier for the judges to compare teams I would think. I think its def something that has always set Idols apart from other competitions.
2.) Most of the judges were introduced to teams beforehand and any questions or concerns could be addressed immediately.
3.) The score sheets/videos of the dress rehearsal and the performance were handed out pretty much immediately. You guys were true to your word! I think this is one of the most important things in any competition and I just don't get why other comps don't let out scoresheets.
4.) The afterparty was awesomeeee.. it was so drama free (didn't see a lot of fights.. didn't have a bunch of creepy guys trying to dance right behind you because there was so much SPACE!) I loved it.
