The Boston Bhangra Competition 2008 will be aired on television over the course of the next 2 weeks! You don't want to miss it!

The show will be aired on Sahara One on channel 624 of Dish Network on the following dates:

January 1st - 8pm - 9pm (Part 1)
January 3rd - 4:30pm - 5:30pm (Part 2)
January 3rd - 10:30pm - 11:30pm (Part 1 repeat)
January 4th - 10:30pm - 11:30pm (Part 2 repeat)

Here's the facebook message. They did this last year too, I dunno about the years before '07 though. And besides Sahara One is the company that filmed the competition so I think that they have the copyright to do whatever they want with the footage (like air it on their channel). I hope it's on Zee TV though because I don't have Dish Network and I would love to see the performances again.

It's called sponsorship. BBC gets money for not only putting up banners and having their Sahara video shown at the beginning and intermission of the competition, but also gets money to sell the rights to be the only channel to show BBC. It's another reason why BBC is a bit anal about the posting of youtube videos of performances because it cuts down on DVD sales and it limits how many viewers their sponsor Sahara will get. It just shows that the heads of BBC know how to run a business.

Well, don’t get too excited. Over the weekend I scrolled to Jan 1st to see if there really was something airing and I found there was not anything even listed pertaining to Boston Bhangra or “Bhangra” at all. What I’ve found is Sahara One will run “clips” of local events throughout the East Cost on a show called “Vatchar,” or something like that I don’t remember the name and it’s a 30 min show and the clips are super short less than 2 mins per event. So, I hate the be the barrier of bad news but I have pretty good feeling that they’re may not be a big airing. I could be wrong but my dish guide is 99.9% accurate…  :-\

It sucks because I've been wanting to see video's but can't due to Boston Bhangra's regulations... kinda sketchy if you ask me...  ???

**Clarification...my Dish Carrier allows me to scroll to different days to see what's on...I'm sure you guys all knew that though! =)

Mine said the same thing. Bhangra is not mentioned on any Indian channel at all, and I have Sahara 1 too. What's going on? Maybe they'll change the guide later??

saw it.. i dont like the desi style of constant change in camera angles.. you cant appreciate the dance as much. We saw the same when Zee aired their bhangra competition. But did they cut some teams dances short?
