California's Best Dhol Competition 2009

Golden State Dholi - California State?s Premier Annual Competition for the Best Dholi with magnificent prizes and a Coveted Golden State Title to go with the fame of being the Golden State?s Best Dholi.

The competition is open to all Dholi's!

Categories:

? Golden State Dholi
? Best Male Dholi
? Best Female Dholi
? Best High School Dholi (grades 9 through 12 ? ages 14 - 18)
? Best Young Dholi (grades 5 through 8 ? ages 10 - 13)
? Best Dholi Duet ? Two Dholi?s performing in unison!

Each category will have first, second and third place.

This competition is open to all and everyone is encouraged to enter this competition it is open to all no matter from where you may be.

Join the Facebook group Golden State Dholi and signup to attend the event California?s Best Dholi 2009.

Judging will be based on a variety of categories;

? Video ? sent with application (MPEG format) to be reviewed by judge panel and online members.
? Panel of judges who will judge performance of selected finalists. Each selected finalist will be given their own webpage and should encourage there friends and supporters to Join the Facebook group Golden State Dholi and signup to attend the event California?s Best Dholi 2009.
? Online voting.

All applicants must submit an application available by signing up via email at admin@indoamericanculturalheritage.org with an application fee of $100.

The event will be held Labor Day weekend September 2009 in Sacramento, at Cal Expo. Applications will be accepted from Dec 1st 2008 through April 30th 2009.

If Raju Johal wasnt the triple threat that he is, and focused only on playing the dhol, he would be hands down the best dholi in North America... If he does the duet part, I don't see anyone beating him...
