Even this trade- the knicks get the best players.
They gave up felton, and got a better player in Billups.
Melo > > > > Ganillinari
Brewer >>> wilson chandler
Anthony randolph wasnt playing, and they got rid of eddy curry's contract.
They gave up a future 2014 pick, and 2 second rounders that arent even theirs.

How did they give up their team? They got better players. Good players for denver as well. Pretty much as close as a win win you will see in the NBA. Lock up melo before the new CBA, walsh is smart. I wouldnt have waited till the summer either. In addition- billups contract is done when CP3 and Dwill are free agents.
Brewer>Chandler? You're joking right? New York doesn't get any picks for ages now, this season they're worse off already, and next season is going to be terrible. You've got an aging billups, a rookie fields, melo, amar'e, and an undersized, foul drawing turiaf. Melo and Amar'e both need the ball, they don't pass too much(Lebron and Wade do however). Billups is at the point where he's more of a scorer than distributor as well. Felton was playing great for the kincks, almost averaging a double double. Gallo was a fan favorite, and Chandler was playing the best ball of his career.

The Knicks are basically a poor man's Miami Heat now...and the Heat roster is already thin enough. Good luck facing teams like Miami, Orlando, Boston, and Chicago.

Haha u mad? Good response to someone with a legitimate argument. Donnie Walsh did it because his job is essentially on the line. The opportunity to get Melo to NY mattered more than anything to NY fans, because even if they don't win they just solidified their position as number 1 team market in the NBA. The OWNER wanted melo, thats why this happened.

Billups is in for ONE year and the man is old. He hasnt had to ever run as much as he will in NY and you WILL see the difference. Felton, on the other hand, is YOUNG and has so much potential. As for his contract plus Dwill and Cp3, you're right. But keep in mind thats a year from now and this is supposed to put htem over the top in 2011, thats the mistaken mindset. Assuming the CBA limits are good for the Knicks, theyll sign a big name. if not, you'll be looking at a team built around two, which still isnt bad, but IN THE FUTURE. not today. not tomorrow.

Gallinari and Melo is obvious but Gallinari went 6th in 2008... and was finally showing why. But fair enough, it was necessary for melo.

HAHAHA WILSON CHANDLER/BREWER? i'm not even gonna say anything.

This is all i'm gonna say on the matter. Let the game play show it. You think the heat took long to make shit work? watch this. They have no extra pieces.

Hey Love, he's right, you did get edged out by Donnie Walsh, but only because Jim Dolan wanted Walsh to do what he wanted. :)

The only thing Knick fans have to worry about is the CBA not putting a hard cap on teams which would mean no third superstar.
If that doesn't happen either CP3, Dwilliams, or Dhoward will decide to "take their talents" to Broadway which means championship in 2-4 years! So two things shouldnt happen: CBA putting on a hard cap and 2) Isiah Thomas officially coming back into the organization.

There might not be a strict hard cap but the MLE is going out and there is going to be maybe franchise tagging or even bigger Bird rights advantages for teams. The players are totally screwed when these new CBA talks happen. No way the owners capitulate on that issue.

Besides, Dwight is coming to LA in a sign and trade with Bynum in 2012 ;)

Let me show why internet fans are delusional. First off Kush, you need to hired as an insider. You somehow know the interworkings of the new york knicks organization with what I am assuming is little to no real actual knowledge except from what you read on your internet websites. Astonishing that kush, the one and only Bhangrateamsforum responder, can break down the knicks organization and this trade better than seemingly the thousands upon thousands of those more qualified than you. How about hypothesizing about the situation, rather than talking as if you are chillin with walsh making the moves.

"DONNIE WALSH HAS HIS JOB ON THE LINE"... Are you sick? The dude was JUST made the president of madison square gardens. His job was never in danger, and is not in danger. Thats absurd. It is absolutely no secret that Dolan wanted melo, as it was no secret that the NJ owners wanted Melo... not really breaking any headlines there brother, but hold on.. wowww dude, never looked at it like that- is that the response you were aiming for?

RAYMOND FELTON- are you kidding me? Internet Gm's need to realize something- everyone under a D'atoni system will have inflated stats. Boris Diaw, Barbosa, Frye, Dudley- ill go on forever - these are ugys that benefited from either a direct system of d'atoni or whatever he left behind. Felton is one of them. DG is one of them. They both benefit from a system that concentrates all your efforts on the offensive end and to exert no defensive pressure. You are the only person I have read so far, be it professional writers to even nuggets fans that have said that Felton is an overall better pickup than chancey. An old nash did fine under a d'atoni system. Fine = 2 time MVP. It is ignorant to think that only a youger PG can run a datoni offense because the truth of the matter is, old PGs have been running it longer than younger PGs.

Felton is not a championship PG. Billups is (although you are right, they will not contend as long as he is in ny). But it provides them with cap flexibility. Also your comments on the CBA are ignorant. The biggest dispute of the new CBA is addressing the losses by smaller market teams. The new CBA is most likely gonna have hard caps, and as rumored an element of revenue sharing/ taking away things such as signing exemptions (ie the free agent 5 mil exemption every team gets- what the heat used to get miller). If anything the CBA is going make it harder for large market teams to sign bigger players.

Nobody is expecting a Miami heat like effect in NY. Not even close. But NY put themselves in a MUCH better position than before.

Wilson Chandler is not Kobe. Chill out. Brewer is a much more rounded player, trust it. BUT LET THE PLAY SPEAK FOR IT SELF.

So here you're getting mad because people are SPECULATING, which is the bottom line of criticizing moves made in the league. Cool. you take speculation out and what do you have left? So you're calling people out on their qualifications, got it.

Yeah his job is obviously on the line. Anything BUT melo coming to NY would be a failure in the front office. It's easy to sign a free agent like Amar'e when there are MUCH MORE ELITE free agents in the market as well(Lebron, Wade, etc). Getting Melo was obviously not easy, the Knicks gave up half of their rotation for billups' one year contract and Melo's expiring. But of course, WE don't know whether his job was in danger, but YOU seem to know that his job WASN'T in danger.

So we're all internet GM's. What are you? A real GM? Is this THE DONNY WALSH himself that I am replying to? Wow! You realize that all of the players you listed served their purpose and were only on the team because they fit with D'Antoni correct? Felton is definitely better for the long run instead of Chauncey. IF the Knicks are able to sign a third FA in 2012, that's a different story.
Nash was old when he got his MVP's? So according to your claim, what does that make him now? He got his MVP's in his 8th and 9th seasons. And he got MVP's, not championships. Billups is in his 13th season btw. And he's only averaging 5 assists, why would you compare him to Nash's MVP years(11.5 and 10.5 assists) or even this year(11.3 assists)? Billups isn't as passing PG, he averaged 5.7 assists in his championship year.

Billups didn't LEAD the detroit pistons to a championship in 04. That's what I loved about the pistons. There were no superstars, just 4 main players who all played their parts. Obviously the CBA is something to talk about. But in your first paragraph-like body, you criticized Kush on the assumption that all his knowledge came from internet sites. So where does your knowledge come from about the CBA? Unless you're a reporter with inside sources, or the "great" Donny Walsh(whom you seem to admire a lot), you're probably getting your rumors from internet sites/forums as well.

Brewer is much more well rounded? Almost every statistic, basic and advanced, says otherwise. Lol brewer is short, and thin as a twig. Thinnest player in the NBA probably. Trust it? What is "it"?

If the new CBA were to take out the MLE, I don't see how teams with a big three like Miami and Boston could get better because they are barely under the cap and most good reserves and role players come from that MLE.

Hopefully they finish the CBA talks and avoid the lockout because who wants to miss a season of ball when everything is getting so competitive.

Haha. Your got your boy to post a picture for eh. Cute. Ive never seen that before. LOL. That was hella cute.
Havent heard any one person say that Donnie Walsh's job was on the line. You internet GMs just make up shit to prove a stupid delusional point. I know I am a FAN, and consequently, it is my opinion. Im not breaking down the interworkings of the fuckin organization, hahaha, chill out. In your first "im gonna make a subjective topic objective" response- you said that his job IS obviously on the line, then ending the paragraph with- WE dont know if his job was on the line. Either you are asserting that his job is in danger now, and wasnt before; or you are struggling to complete an organized thought. Either way, read what you write. For some reason I went on, and read the rest of your post, even though, I should have stopped right there.

Since we are trying the whole "lets punk each other thing"- its Donnie Walsh, not DONNY. idiot. You keep on saying Felton is better for the long run. Then consequently say "its different if they get a FA". Do you think NY made the trade with the thoughts that we are giving up future PG, or do you think they made the trade thinking, we are gonna get a future PG- including the 2 biggest names that have already expressed interest? Do you even read your posts? Of course they are going for a FA. Felton is NOT a championship PG pyaara. You can try your internet punk routine all you want, you know its not true.

I always find it funny when you SPECULATE, but trying to make the new york knicks organization out like fools.LOL. Who the fuck are you? At least I am telling you, im a fuckin fan speaking out of my ass... your the guy making long responses trying to disprove something that is objective. Chill out, your a fan, and your on a bhangra website tough guy. Breathe, relax, laugh. Not everything in life is about having a pissing contest. With exception of your fan that you got there, posting pictures for you, its my opinion vs yours. Haha. Are you trying to "disprove" my OPINION?!!? I dont even understand the point of your post. It went from sharing your opinion, to you trying to either punk me, or disprove what I think is correct. Help me out. What are you honestly, at the end of the post- what are you trying to accomplish?

Obviously the inflating of stats went beyond your head. Nash average 18 and 11 in MVP years, with being one of the worst defensive PGs in the league. Because when you are putting up 120-130 points- your gonna average more assists. But of course, that would require reading to understand, but judging by your own contradictory post, you obviously have some sort of grudge against reading.

Listen "love" hahaha love - fact vs fiction. When the pirates involved like David Stern point out the facts- ie) the owners are losing money (something that even billy hunter admitted). Smaller organizations are struggling. Revenue sharing is on the table. Hard cap is on the table. These are facts. It is not the same thing as your buddy being one of those soap opera mags that breaks down the drama in the knicks organization. I`ll give him one thing. He does know how to state the obvious... `Dolan wanted Melo`. NOOOOOOOOOO. GET OUT!!!!

This takes the cake: Billups didnt LEAD the pistons to the champsion in 04. The finals MOST VALUABLE PLAYER didnt LEAD the team to the championship. THE MVP of the finals- was not doing any sort of leading.... The leading was lacking.... from the MVP... no leading what so ever. Got it. Hahaha. he was THE distinguishing factor. He literally was THE reason that they won the championship. He was THE most important player on the floor. Yes, the rest of them contributed. Yes. I get it. But the MVP lead them to the championship... Yea I get it, they all contributed. I get it.

To tell you the truth. Ive wasted too much time on this post. I dont even care lol. I have no time to look up stats and pictures of David Hasselhoff. Enjoy the pissing contest, im out children.

Sorry forgot one thing... Felton being the wave of the future. And all the shit that was talked about how he is better for the long run... Guess when his contract is up... He signed a 2 year contract.

Now only if I had any friend who cared enough to post a david hasselhoff picture for me.

It's crazy man... but in a weird way the competition is actually skyrocketing. lebron said the nba was movin to an era where stars play together, and if thats true we're in for some RIDICULOUS rivalries... at the expense of a bunch of teams bein pretty much removed from the conversation, i think the competitiveness and just raw explosiveness of the top teams is gonna bring back the old basketball days, when the bulls hated the pistons and the lakers hated the celts. when teams were built to beat a specific other team. I think duels are gonna be more passionate than we've seen in a while. celtics and lakers right now is a little taste of that. I can't wait for the knicks to get good. and to think, this literally only happened because of lebron's decision. no one man should have all that power...
