Brewer>Chandler? You're joking right? New York doesn't get any picks for ages now, this season they're worse off already, and next season is going to be terrible. You've got an aging billups, a rookie fields, melo, amar'e, and an undersized, foul drawing turiaf. Melo and Amar'e both need the ball, they don't pass too much(Lebron and Wade do however). Billups is at the point where he's more of a scorer than distributor as well. Felton was playing great for the kincks, almost averaging a double double. Gallo was a fan favorite, and Chandler was playing the best ball of his career.AB7522 said:Even this trade- the knicks get the best players.
They gave up felton, and got a better player in Billups.

Brewer >>> wilson chandler
Anthony randolph wasnt playing, and they got rid of eddy curry's contract.
They gave up a future 2014 pick, and 2 second rounders that arent even theirs.
How did they give up their team? They got better players. Good players for denver as well. Pretty much as close as a win win you will see in the NBA. Lock up melo before the new CBA, walsh is smart. I wouldnt have waited till the summer either. In addition- billups contract is done when CP3 and Dwill are free agents.

The Knicks are basically a poor man's Miami Heat now...and the Heat roster is already thin enough. Good luck facing teams like Miami, Orlando, Boston, and Chicago.
Haha u mad? Good response to someone with a legitimate argument. Donnie Walsh did it because his job is essentially on the line. The opportunity to get Melo to NY mattered more than anything to NY fans, because even if they don't win they just solidified their position as number 1 team market in the NBA. The OWNER wanted melo, thats why this happened.AB7522 said:Love said:Brewer>Chandler? You're joking right? You should join the New york knicks front office. Donnie Walsh: NBA GM for 20 years. Love: ______.
Donnie walsh beats you by JUST A HAIR.... smallest of margins.
There might not be a strict hard cap but the MLE is going out and there is going to be maybe franchise tagging or even bigger Bird rights advantages for teams. The players are totally screwed when these new CBA talks happen. No way the owners capitulate on that issue.mcgulz said:The only thing Knick fans have to worry about is the CBA not putting a hard cap on teams which would mean no third superstar.
If that doesn't happen either CP3, Dwilliams, or Dhoward will decide to "take their talents" to Broadway which means championship in 2-4 years! So two things shouldnt happen: CBA putting on a hard cap and 2) Isiah Thomas officially coming back into the organization.

Besides, Dwight is coming to LA in a sign and trade with Bynum in 2012![]()
+1 Well said, I just hope what you said don't come true(CBA) =XAB7522 said:Let me show why internet fans are delusional. First off Kush, you need to hired as an insider. You somehow know the interworkings of the new york knicks organization with what I am assuming is little to no real actual knowledge except from what you read on your internet websites. How about hypothesizing about the situation, rather than talking as if you are chillin with walsh making the moves.
"DONNIE WALSH HAS HIS JOB ON THE LINE"... Are you sick? The dude was JUST made the president of madison square gardens. His job was never in danger, and is not in danger. Thats absurd. It is absolutely no secret that Dolan wanted melo, as it was no secret that the NJ owners wanted Melo... not really breaking any headlines there brother, but hold on.. wowww dude, never looked at it like that- is that the response you were aiming for?
RAYMOND FELTON- are you kidding me? Internet Gm's need to realize something- everyone under a D'atoni system will have inflated stats. Boris Diaw, Barbosa, Frye, Dudley- ill go on forever - these are ugys that benefited from either a direct system of d'atoni or whatever he left behind. Felton is one of them. DG is one of them. They both benefit from a system that concentrates all your efforts on the offensive end and to exert no defensive pressure. You are the only person I have read so far, be it professional writers to even nuggets fans that have said that Felton is an overall better pickup than chancey. An old nash did fine under a d'atoni system. Fine = 2 time MVP. It is ignorant to think that only a youger PG can run a datoni offense because the truth of the matter is, old PGs have been running it longer than younger PGs.
Felton is not a championship PG. Billups is (although you are right, they will not contend as long as he is in ny). But it provides them with cap flexibility. Also your comments on the CBA are ignorant. The biggest dispute of the new CBA is addressing the losses by smaller market teams. The new CBA is most likely gonna have hard caps, and as rumored an element of revenue sharing/ taking away things such as signing exemptions (ie the free agent 5 mil exemption every team gets- what the heat used to get miller). If anything the CBA is going make it harder for large market teams to sign bigger players.
Nobody is expecting a Miami heat like effect in NY. Not even close. But NY put themselves in a MUCH better position than before.
Wilson Chandler is not Kobe. Chill out. Brewer is a much more rounded player, trust it. BUT LET THE PLAY SPEAK FOR IT SELF.
Along with Luke's contract...get that foo the $^#& out of here.COMTONDAJATT said:There might not be a strict hard cap but the MLE is going out and there is going to be maybe franchise tagging or even bigger Bird rights advantages for teams. So here you're getting mad because people are SPECULATING, which is the bottom line of criticizing moves made in the league. Cool. you take speculation out and what do you have left? So you're calling people out on their qualifications, got it.AB7522 said:Let me show why internet fans are delusional. First off Kush, you need to hired as an insider. Yeah his job is obviously on the line. Anything BUT melo coming to NY would be a failure in the front office. It's easy to sign a free agent like Amar'e when there are MUCH MORE ELITE free agents in the market as well(Lebron, Wade, etc). Getting Melo was obviously not easy, the Knicks gave up half of their rotation for billups' one year contract and Melo's expiring. But of course, WE don't know whether his job was in danger, but YOU seem to know that his job WASN'T in danger.AB7522 said:"DONNIE WALSH HAS HIS JOB ON THE LINE"... Are you sick? So we're all internet GM's. What are you? A real GM? Is this THE DONNY WALSH himself that I am replying to? Wow! You realize that all of the players you listed served their purpose and were only on the team because they fit with D'Antoni correct? Felton is definitely better for the long run instead of Chauncey. IF the Knicks are able to sign a third FA in 2012, that's a different story.AB7522 said:RAYMOND FELTON- are you kidding me? Billups didn't LEAD the detroit pistons to a championship in 04. That's what I loved about the pistons. There were no superstars, just 4 main players who all played their parts. Obviously the CBA is something to talk about. But in your first paragraph-like body, you criticized Kush on the assumption that all his knowledge came from internet sites. So where does your knowledge come from about the CBA? Unless you're a reporter with inside sources, or the "great" Donny Walsh(whom you seem to admire a lot), you're probably getting your rumors from internet sites/forums as well.AB7522 said:Felton is not a championship PG. Brewer is much more well rounded? Almost every statistic, basic and advanced, says otherwise. Lol brewer is short, and thin as a twig. Thinnest player in the NBA probably. Trust it? What is "it"?
It's crazy man... but in a weird way the competition is actually skyrocketing. lebron said the nba was movin to an era where stars play together, and if thats true we're in for some RIDICULOUS rivalries... at the expense of a bunch of teams bein pretty much removed from the conversation, i think the competitiveness and just raw explosiveness of the top teams is gonna bring back the old basketball days, when the bulls hated the pistons and the lakers hated the celts. when teams were built to beat a specific other team. I think duels are gonna be more passionate than we've seen in a while. celtics and lakers right now is a little taste of that. I can't wait for the knicks to get good. and to think, this literally only happened because of lebron's decision. no one man should have all that power...parhar94 said:whats up with all of these players joining each other rather than playing against each other... where is the competition?
