The "love" of bhangra died out a LONG time ago.. That's why we have COMPETITIONS and not charity shows. Competitions are all about being the best, being cocky, getting shitfaced, and starting shit. If you don't have alcohol during the competition weekend, all hell would break loose.

Bhangra in the Heights was a charity show/exhibition this past Winter w/o alcohol! woohoo!

...but you're right...some drunk people showed up and ruined it for everyone else at about 1 am.

Sadly....I no way too many teams that WOULDN'T come! Im sure its hard for you to avoid someone bringing a truck full of alcohol outside and distributing it lmao

I would attend any bhangra comps or show with or without alcohol because i don't drink.

well, the post assumes we all do... but lets be honest, most people do. Parties are cool and even the performances themselves but the best part about a comp is training for it

u dont have to be an amritdhari not to drink... u have to be a sikh not to drink (or muslin)... but i know a lot of people would argue this just to get away with getting wasted. I am ok with people drinking, but its a pity if people show up for parties just for the booze, and if people sho up for comps just for the parties...

luckily its not like this for most of us.

I am anti-muslin ... lol but yes- I definitely would go to a dry competition. meeting people, having fun, dancing. good times.
