It seems that the new trend is to charge competitors with a discounted price as opposed to a free ticket. 8 Teams with 16 people average each (managers, chimta bitches, dhols) with $10 ticket is an extra $1K win.Temurzai said:

I think it's nonsense to charge performers to attend an afterparty. If you begin to charge them, they may not show up, and if they don't attend, they will just get drunk and cause ruckus in the hotel that has your competitions name on it and makes you look bad. They might do that anyways but why not lessen that a bit lol. You might as well say that captains attend the mixer free (to do placement draws) and anyone else has to buy a ticket. The registration fee is there, use that as revenue. Don't scrape off of the dancers. This is not a hit towards CSUN, but my views on the topic in general.
yeah coming off of what i experienced at socal and now this issue with csun it's like at the end of the day we teams are the sole reason that you have this comp in the first place...yeah you will still get teams to apply but if you fuck up one year (this year socal) then next year alot of teams won't apply and so you will get lower caliber teams to perform at your competition.
the big name teams can basically choose which comps they want to go to and to not have them there draws less crowd, meaning less ticket sales.
raman chadha, you should really consider how you and your volunteers treat the teams -- money makers -- at your competition.
i mean we were exhibition at socal 08 and it was a blast and this year we were grateful enough to get in as a replacement team, but in retrospect it was just a bad experience at socal 09.

so i got this info from a friend,who i asked to find out why we didnt get in
i applied babc to this comp, we didnt get in i dont know why
