I think I have to go watch the movie again...because it seems like I definitely did not pick up on the amazingness of the movie that everyone here seems to have seen...

not saying it was bad (the acting was really good...esp the joker)...i just didn't enjoy it
...maybe I expected too much from it before i went into the movie (esp with all the hype the movie was getting)

...but i'll give it another try

I finally saw it, and let me just say that...personally, my favorite part of the movie was actually the interaction between Batman and the Joker in the interrogation room...amazing...Heath Ledger puts on an excellent show...it can't come out on dvd soon enough...

So the two people that Dent killed were in fact with the Mob? I'm a bit confused on that one..? But he came after Gorden too..does that mean he was on their payroll as well?
Well, Dent killed the Mob leader by killing his driver. And then he killed one of the corrupt cops. The second cop got a lucky flip and was spared, but was forced to help kidnap Gordan's family.

Gordan wasn't on their payroll but Gordan couldn't save the girl fast enough, so Dent wanted him to feel how he did (kidnapped his family and wanted to kill them to make it justice). Essentially, why should Gordan be allowed to have his family when Gordan failed to save Dent's "family"?

I think it was more because Gordon assured and reassured Dent that his guys were clean and that it was secure, and he was wrong, they were corrupt---and it ended up costing Dent the woman he loved (plus his face).

I'm seeing at again tonight in IMAX :) :) :) :) ;)
I'm quite excited about seeing it for the second time...Joker killed it. Without a doubt Ledger stole the show, and I knew Dent was two face the moment the coin came out.

This movie was hyped and it definitely lived up to it!!

I dont think the girl was corrupt, because she said she had handed Rachel over to someone else. Thats why she probably got lucky.

Hmmm, I really doubt that Dent will make another appearance, unfortunately. Nolan has tried to make everything in Batman make sense whether it was identifying each villian's madness or showing how the characters came to be (All of the Joker's stories were awesome). Dent fell down and presumably broke his back... unless they were able to save him and kept his existence from the public.
Maybe, maybe not. They're certainly realistic, but not too realistic. Remember that Dent killed Sal Maroni (we think) by shooting the driver while Dent was still in the car, and somehow he walked away unharmed (we know because we saw him later without so much as a limp). I would bet money on Two Face returning for a couple of reasons. First, because he's one of Batman's best villains and the character of Harvey Dent makes so much sense as an alter-ego for Batman. Second, because there was just so much time and effort invested in developing his story arc, it'd be a shame to throw it out entirely at the end of TDK. That's the mistake Spider-Man 3 made with Venom. The character still has so much potential. I could see Two Face breaking out of Arkham Asylum to wreak more havoc in part 3, maybe with some new buddies he busted out with him. But I guess we'll all have to wait and see...

I've been reading up on crazy articles for Batman 3.

"If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I?ll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work.? ~Christian Bale.

I'm glad Bale shares my distaste in Robin!

Plus, Joker wont be in the 3rd movie (no recasting). Two Face is a strong possibility (but not Penguin and Catwoman). Riddler may work too. Cant wait!!!

The girl was bought out, she was cryin about her mother's healthcare bills and they paid her off to get Rachel.

Goes without saying, movie was amazing and Heath Ledger was the true hero of the film. A posthumous Oscar is in order.

Some questions though, can anyone help me out?

The Gotham News Reporter who tried to blackmail Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) and came on TV trying to reveal Batman's true identity -- did he know that Bruce Wayne was the real Batman? Or did he think someone else was? Who was he about to reveal? The Chinese guy (Lau?) or Harvey Dent? I just don't understand how he would know it was Bruce Wayne necessarily, just by finding the Batmobile/Tumbler blueprints in the archives...all he knew was that someone in Wayne Enterprises was Batman, or that Lucius was helping the real Batman somehow - but he wouldn't be able to pinpoint the identity, right?

What was the point of the Scarecrow coming again? He was kind of in the movie for no real reason...

Thoughts: What the hell is going to happen to the Joker, he's clearly not dead...?

The movie is amazing in IMAX. The scale of the movie changed altogether! I'll have to see it again (it's summer, and bhangra season isn't in full effect yet).

I'm just perplexed by one scene. When Joker goes around killing off the judge and the police commissioner, he goes after Dent at Bruce's party. Well, after joker pushes Rachel off the building and Batman saves her...what happens? It's like...Joker just left the party, or everyone just survived.
