Harman your post makes no sense to me.

You validify the staff of Obama telling two muslims not to sit in the front row. You claim that ignorance of the American people might be the downfall of Obama's comaign. But yet, the justification that you gave (people might assoication him with muslims) is quite possibly the most ignorant thing you have said.

If I udnerstand you correctly, the way to combat ignorance, is to side step the issue and play to the ignorant people of America?

What Obama's campaign did, is funamentally, and caterogircally more ignorant, or just as ignorant as the Americans who assoicate him with being a muslim. To deny two females basic seating rights, because fear of assoication, has degraded us back to civil rights days with Rosa Parks. In Plessy v Furgeson, why was the separation of black v white carts so problematic? Because Homer Plessey, a man 1/8th black, was too embrassing for whites to be assoicated with.

As a PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE, as a man who is to run our country, to sit there and allow your staff to do something so disgusting, for the simple fact to please the IGNORANT people of America is appalling. The fact you can sympathsize with his staff's actions makes you as ignorant as them. I understand your running a campaign, and the ignorant vote is valued as much as the educated vote, but what kind of message does this send to the country who will be dependent on you to be neutral and have their best interests in mind. IT IS MIND BOGGLING how someone can justify that. Please do your best Harman.

These holy spirit that surrounds Obama is ignorant. I support Obama , because I think he is the lesser of two evils, but this guy and his staff are clearly a bunch of douche bags. Whether its this act, or Obama's staff labelling Hilirary Clinton as "D-Punjab" at an Indian event (claiming that she is the democractic nominee from punjab) is disgusting. This guy needs to clean up his staff's bullshit tactics. McCain looks scott free when it comes to race relations. Its only the negative assoication of being a WASP WASP Republican and a friend of George Bush that makes people apprehensive.
I think you have completely misunderstood my post.

The reason I brought up the example of the volunteers who refused to let two Muslim girls sit behind him is to show how prejudiced this country can be and how it will hurt Obama in the election. The fact that these volunteers were willing to completely go against Obama's message of "change" by keeping the status quo of bigotry against Muslims and the fact that people actually think something is wrong with him having anything to do with Muslims shows the nation's bigotry. I can't blame Obama for what happened, because as Ranjit posted...he had nothing to do with the situation. He apologized after and has said they were not part of his staff. Re-read my original post, I dont see where I ever "justified" what happened or acted like it was the right thing to do...I said "I do not see Obama getting elected come the fall because enough of the nation is prejudiced enough, and confused enough to say "hmm...my neighbor told me this Hussein guy doesnt wear a flag pin, so I'm not gonna vote for him", completely ignoring the issues." How is that defending what happened? I spoke to the prejudice of the country for this situation to happen.

"McCain looks scott free when it comes to race relations. " Well, he is because he is white. But if you look at the issues, he voted against MLK day and has since apologized saying he didnt realize the full context of how important he was to America, he voted to keep the confederate flag in SC then said he only voted that way to win some votes in SC, he has used the racial slur "Gook" on a number of occasions and has stood by his decision to do so and he is associated with the Republican party which in general shows a lack of respect for minorities.
