a faster way to sand it hhmm just sand keep sanding using the most coarse sandpaper you can find and as for roping the dhol heres the link Dhugga Install Tutorial

now as for remo thili it depends on what you like i personally prefer the clear diplomat you can probably get the best sound using the clear diplomat but as for black ebony ambassodar thats pretty good but i still prefer any diplomat remo head over ambassodor mainly because the remo diplomat heads have a very similar thickness to gbc and mr thilis

remo diplomat has a thickness of 7.5mm and the gbc has a thickness of 7mm the white gbc`s sound the best to me the black gbc`s sound a little flat after 1 year and i end up retuning the black gbc very often

and the remo ambassodar heads have a thickness of 10mm < a little too thick in my opinion but it depends on how you tune it

now since you are sanding your dhol make sure you get all of the varnish off and oil the dhol up with 2 coats of mustard oil on the inside and 4-5 on the outside each coat should be applied in 2 hour intervals and also lets say it`s been six months from now and your putting on a new gbc, remo or whatever do one coating on the inside it`ll keep your dhol sounding great

Cheers, very helpful. Just wanted to ask:

I'm really addicted to the idea of gettin a REMO however, after listenin 2 everyone, people are sayin go for GBC.,

Now the original treble side I had was a GBC, so i might just keep it.

It is a WHITE GBC DELUXE 7mm - would you recommened me using dat OR buying a new remo skin?

Honestly bro, it's mainly upto you. We'll give you insights from experiences but as far as decisions go, it's all your's :)
But the GBC are probably the best way to go, although i just bought a Remo ebony, and still have to install it. But i do have a GBC on right now, and it's sounding great, i'm just changing it because the sound is starting to die out, because it's been a while.

if it sounds great then keep it on and then when the sound starts to die down a bit then you can get another gbc(which is what i recommend) or you can get a remo but if getting a remo then get either a clear diplomat or a coated diplomat or a smooth white diplomat if you tune it right you can make it sound just like or better then the gbc but if your gbc sounds great still then keep that on the dhol but if you want to change it ti`s your choice on what you pick post a couple of pics of your dhol
