wow thanks man..that helps a lotArmaan said:to briefly explain it...
Amb - The wood of this tree is considered good, but is a lot less denser and considered inferior in sound to Kacchi pakki Talli (chitti talli) and Pakki Talli (Kalli Talli).
Kacchi Pakki Talli (Chitti Talli) - The wood for this dhol is called Kacchi Pakki, because it is not yet fully aged. You will notice a dark (reddish) and light (yellowish) gradient on the dhol. This dhol's sound is amazing and very powerful. The dhol is a bit heavier than the Amb.
Pakki Talli (Kalli Talli) - The wood for this dhol comes from the same tree as the Kacchi Pakki Talli but it is aged and very dense. The sound from this dhol is superb and very bold. The dhol is also very durable. This type of wood is not easily available and you basically wouldn't get a better sounding dhol than this....This is also usually the most expensive dhol, but its worth the investment if you're serious about picking up the dhol
hope that helped

White wood and light
The best wood you can get for Dhol
Very hard to find it.
The wood should be light but strong. The hardness of the wood is especially important in determining the quality of tone of a dhol.
